Six Flags Great Escape: General Discussion.

Sad news, will just leave La Vibora at Six Flags Over Texas as the final Intamin bobsled in existence.

Though they are a nuisance to operate when it comes to rain (hence Disaster Transport), and I remember when I finally got on Bob at Efteling initially they evacced the queue because of the rain. Yet they were still having to constantly send empty trains to try and stop the water from pooling.

Six Flags Great Escape have announced that they will be getting a small Gravity Group woodie named The Bobcat for 2024:

More details here. Seems like a solid addition for the park.

That looks like a good compact layout with lots of airtime!

Rather unexpectedly, it would seem as though Great Escape might be building a B&M, with TPoseOnTantrum on CoasterForce unearthing details of a shipment from B&M headed to the park: https://coasterforce.com/forums/threads/six-flags-great-escape-new-b-m-coaster.47593/#post-1187570

Seeing as the park doesn’t currently have any B&M coasters, it seems like a fairly safe bet to assume that a new one is on the way, in my view.

This is totally out of the blue, particularly given that Great Escape has historically been one of the more neglected Six Flags parks! The park’s relative smaller scale leads me to believe that it might be a B&M family coaster rather than a huge thrilling headliner, but a bigger B&M would be awesome to really give the park something to shout about!

As it turns out, that was a false alarm, I’m afraid… the shipping address for Six Flags Over Texas was incorrectly labelled as Six Flags Great Escape on the shipping forms, and it’s just another shipment for their new Dive Coaster.

Excitement over! Apologies for raising people’s hopes…
