I think VR could be a nice way to rejuvenate an old, moderate coaster that's close to being removed. It's fairly cheap and not very time consuming to implement and I can see MACK media having a catalogue of stock films that they can offer and adapt for each ride.
Putting it on something thrilling or even slightly rough is nonsense though, how can you brace if you can't see the track?
