Six Flags Quiddiya

Also United are set to play two lucrative friendlies out there in March so the temptation to go over to watch both games and have a few days at the park is definitely tempting me.

I just feel very unsure about Saudi in general though and for that reason I probably wont bother.

I really want to ride Falcons Flight. My wife understandably refuses to go so we'd never go as a family (which is a shame as my son is tall enough to go on everything at the park already).

I travel a fair bit for work so if i inadvertently end up in the region i'd probably go but i'm not going to specifically go on a trip there.

Will be interesting to see the various vlogs once it opens. The other Middle Eastern parks tend to get very favourable reviews other than poor operations. Plus once Disney show up i think that's going to be a big difference maker in perception.

Pretty much the same as me. I go to either India or Dubai for work pretty much every year as we have offices there. My wife also isnt interested in going to Saudi although she loves Dubai.

United being there next year is probably the perfect excuse for me to go visit. If i dont go then, I probably wouldnt ever go at all and I think it would eat me alive not experiencing that coaster at least once. :

Tempting I have to say. Just disappointing its being built there of all places. :(

Looking forward to getting out there at some stage next year hopefully.
I’m honestly finding myself drawn to Skyscanner. The price of entry is far cheaper than I expected so coupled with a £500 flight and a couple of days in a hotel could potentially be an interesting trip.

I am very jealous of all of you who are privileged enough to be able to go. Whilst I have my own personal safety and moral objections to visiting, I do not judge you or bear you ill will for doing so. I would much rather you didn't, of course, but if I was lucky enough to be in your position I would be awfully tempted.

Opening hours are 4pm-midnight or 1am on Thursday/Friday! Lots of night rides. Works out quite well for visiting Brits in terms of time zone.

Surprised they don't have earlier hours in winter, it's hot but nothing crazy so going on water rides won't be great.

I'm with you on this. I will never visit a country where my grown up children could be executed just for being who they are.

Interesting to see that Your Experience Guide will not be going either:

That coaster has some absolutely insane elements. I bet some people will have it as a top 10 coaster. Best Vekoma? (or will that one being built in Mexico be better?)

I've always wanted to see a double zero G roll type element. I don't think we have ever seen one like that on a sitdown coaster. There are a couple of B&M flyers which have similar-ish elements but they are flying coasters. Stardust racers has each half of that element between the two tracks . RMCs have lots of rolls but I don't think they have done anything quite like that before?

The banked turn into a wave turn into a roll looks really good as well, plus the hangtime on the first element.

Found it interesting that Virgin Atlantic are offering first class seats to Riyadh for just 23000 points, cheaper than anywhere else. (To Orlando I've seen them as high as 300'000!) I expect a push on value to get tourists in? I personally don't think the resort is established enough yet to even tempt me into that particular country, but seems it might be good value for money.

Ever since I saw the plans I thought Iron Rattler might well be the best coaster there despite Falcon's Flight getting all the media and thoosie attention due to the sheer size of it (understandably so).

That POV pretty much backs up my initial thoughts. That thing looks incredible.

Even thought there's been temptation to go over....I have made my mind up I won't be visiting either. Not yet anyway. If Saudi start to move with the times more like Dubai did then I will revisit the decision in the future.

The woodie also looks to have a good pace. Just a shame it appear to have such a low height limit requirement.

Yeah 1.9 metres is the max height limit, and I'm around 1.8 (I'm 6ft 2). That's pretty tight, and I'd probably be height-checked.

I assume that will be to do with the clearances, could make for some unnerving headchoppers!

Surely if clearance was an issue they'd have to measure people's arms too...?

Iron Rattler certainly looks like it could be another smash hit from Vekoma. Sirens Curse is an excellent mid-scale coaster but this one looks to have scaled up without compromising on the dynamics (as Intamin have often done in the past).

There's a dynamic to most modern Vekomas. If they keep it, they're on to a winner with almost everything they produce.

Im 1.95cm so the Woodie is a certain no for me.

I might not even be allowed on Falcons Flight either unless they allow you to remove your shoes as thats 196cm.

Another reason to not go for me. If I went all that way and couldnt ride FF Id be truly devastated.
