Six Flags Quiddiya

In any other park that would be one intimidating looking flat ride. However they have a 600ft tall coaster built off the side of a Mountain so will look like a kiddie's ride from the top of the drop. Crazy place.

Do we have any ideas on how much Park Entry is going to be? The Dubai Parks aren't particularly cheap and prices have been clearly been set to attract tourists over locals. One of the big reasons I think why they haven't been a huge success. They have alienated their biggest and closest audience.

You'd have to check but I doubt it. I would suspect that add on it for US Six Flags/Legacy Cedar Fair parks only.

I doubt they'll declare either way until the park is actually open. Hopefully it is but I massively doubt it.

Early prediction that Disney Abu Dhabi is a nail in the coffin for this place.

I don't believe for a second that the Middle East can support two theme park "destinations". I'm not yet convinced that it can support one.

I tend to agree. Yas Island is already a pretty good theme park destination.

- Warner Bros park is stunning. One of the best parks I have ever visited. And the fact they are getting another 2/3 E Ticket rides including Harry potter then it's only going to get better.

- Sea World is absolutely unreal. It isn't full of rides like Orlando but the animal exhibits are second to none. Manta is a top 10/20 coaster for me too. So fun.

- Ferrari World is obviously full of thrill rides for the adrenaline junkies.

- Water Park - Haven't been here myself but it looks solid from the outside for sure.

Add Disney to those above and they are absolutely untouchable in that area of the world I agree. And obviously it's only 60-90 mins to go visit the Dubai parks as well whilst you're there. And Motiongate Dubai is without a doubt worth that effort. It's a great park.

Saudi Arabia have a population of 34m people. More than triple that of the UAE. I think their best bet will be the domestic market. I can't see European and Indian families going to Saudi for a holiday. Hardcore enthusiasts will go for the coaster but that will be a one and done type of thing for most people and obviously that's an incredibly small number too.

There’s photos doing the rounds on the socials of a train on the track of falcons flight. Wonder how long before the first video/test is spotted..

As for Disney I see it as a completely separate market so will hang off each other’s tourists a bit like Disney and universal do in Florida.

I could be massively proven wrong but I just don't see international families going to Quiddiya in the same numbers that they go to Dubai/Abu Dhabi. I think Disney will do far better than Six Flags when it comes to tourists.

Locals is a different story. Who knows how Saudis will take to having a major Theme Park on their doorstep. It's not really a huge part of their culture like it is in the West.

It’s a long term project. It has taken decades for the UAE to get where they are now.

I think one major hurdle is Europeans already have a 365 Disney park so that aspect becomes less appealing. In that sense, Six Flags offering the serious thrills all year (maybe not summer) that we only really see in the US is a good complimentary offering.

The UAE parks look great but in about 5+ years Saudi will have both the best thrills and the mouse, so potentially the best two theme parks in the Middle East.

Not sure if mis reading what you have said but Saudi are not getting Disney. That’s the UAE (Abu Dhabi) at Yas island next to their existing 3 theme parks and water park.

I'm not sure this park has been built for direct profits though or if it's being funded by an organisation that will benefit from Saudi having the reputation that comes with a big theme park or perhaps the Saudi government. I do perhaps think it's just about reputation and less about making direct profits off this park itself, so overall they may not actually be concerned by Disney.

You’re right, I’m very tired and have made a terrible mistake

Oops 😂

So at least you're in agreement with us anyway. Not sure Six Flags, record breaking coaster or not, will compete with Disney, Sea World, Ferrari World and Warner Bros.

India and Pakistan is a huge market for the Abu Dhabi parks. When we were there there was a lot of tourists from those countries visiting and the parks were pretty busy. Add Disney to that and it's going to boom.

Apparently all the theming at the park is complete and was made by a British company (Scruffy Dog Creative) though only mock up images are still being shown.

Also it was quite amusing whilst trying to find this thread and the opening page being a plethora of posts stating the park and ride will never be built!

Still looks like a coaster somebody made on rollercoaster tycoon / PlanCo. It's just madness I agree.
