Sixth Form EPQ Rollercoaster Project - would you share your opinions please?

Hi all,

My daughter (a keen rollercoaster enthusiast too!) is writing her Sixth Form EPQ (Extended Qualification Project) titled: “How are engineers pushing the boundaries of rollercoaster design without compromising safety?'

She needs to undertake some primary research and has put this short survey together to seek people's experiences and perceptions on rollercoaster innovation and safety. I suggested I ask the good people here on the forum if they would be happy to complete it. The more responses the better so that she has some good data to analyse.

Responses are anonymous and will be used only for her project.

You can also click here to go to the survey

Thank you very much in advance for your replies!

Just completed it, it's a well put together survey. Good luck to her on her studies! 😊

Done! Enjoyed that, could have done another 50 pages.

Sorry to be pedantic but there’s a small grammatical error on I believe page 5. I’m guessing the underlined “to” shouldn’t be there:

Aside from increasing thrill levels, how do you think the engineers could to push the boundaries of rollercoaster design and innovation whilst still maintaining or improving safety? (tick all that apply)

This is a very well-done survey, and is better than the vast majority of others that I have done. It was interesting to see the distribution of responses.

Thank you for pointing that out - that's now been corrected. It's good to have fresh eyes taking a look, appreciate that :)

Thank you very much, she's chuffed!

Hi @EuropaDave, it's a good survey, I wish her well with her project!

I would just point out that there's a link at the end of the survey where you can view other people's survey responses, I am not sure if this was intentional? Generally I wouldn't expect my responses to be visible to other responders. If that cannot be changed it should be made clear in the Ts&Cs at the start explaining how the data will be used.

I’ve done it.

Spotted a little glitch. For the question (I can’t remember the exact wording) what makes a ride feel less safe or what makes you less likely to ride or something along those lines…It wouldn’t let me tick just the “other” box. It told me it was a mandatory question and wouldn’t let me move on until I’d ticked another box as well.

Good luck with the EPQ

Thanks for doing the survey, I think if you tick other, it's because it wants you to add free text and say what the 'other' is? I don't think you need to tick another box as well.
