Strange Rides

Thoughts:
  • The conveyer belts to get people to the top feels like the first idea they came up with late one night.
  • Wow it's filthy
  • This is getting to alpine coaster speeds at parts
  • It's all filthy, there's zero point in it being made of glass
  • I have every confidence that they thoroughly inspect the 2 mile course of algae covered glass for defects at a reasonable frequency
  • The bootleg screamin' swing looked fun!

Add that you are actually strictly required to wear a poncho on the ride as it's fed by river water!

Looks like good fun. You'd probably get some idiots failing to go around the loop loads of times on purpose so they'd have to have something where if you failed to get around a few times it boosted you around automatically, or something. Looks enjoyable though if it lets you go fast.

It’s unique, but I can imagine it might be a throughput nightmare if abused (e.g. someone just keeps stalling intentionally)!

I’m not sure I see many parks going for this.

It's like they're trying to have bad ideas.

If one of these is ever built, it will be on a cruise ship "First inversion/loop at sea" etc... somewhere that throughput matters little and profit on pay-per-ride matters lots.

What in the omnimover is this?! :tearsofjoy:

Strange ride system
Strange location
Strange layout
Strange terrifying scenes
Baby seats

It's at an Austrian Christmas museum in an former hospital, Steyr, Austria.

Translated description from the Steyr website:
A special attraction is the ride on the experience train. Securely strapped into seats, the journey through the Advent season begins – passing by showcase booths. Dolls on the ground floor showcase Christmas traditions in Austria, while the first floor features customs from many countries around the world.
The highlight is the Angels' Workshop under the roof, where hundreds of little angels prepare for Christmas.

Train capacity
2 trains of 5 people per ride
Travel time approx. 10 min.
