Disney seeks to dismiss park wrongful death lawsuit because the victim was a Disney+ subscriber

“Disney World is arguing a man cannot sue it over the death of his wife because of terms he signed up to in a free trial of Disney+.”

Yeah they're going to lose that one. Terms and conditions for a software product clearly do not apply to food safety and hygiene.

To be honest the case will be based on what was communicated by the staff to the customer upon ordering. If they were told the restaurant could not guarantee a nut-free environment, but they decided to order anyway, then Disney could argue that the customer was aware of the risks and thus cannot sue. However if the customer was led to believe there may be a risk of traces only and consumed a lot of the allergen, they could be in trouble. If nothing was explained to the customer, they have no leg to stand on.

Basically Disney should probably just shut up and pay up. Someone has died and they were probably responsible. It looks bad from a PR perspective if they attempt to fight this.

And you’d think they could afford it more than anyone else!

Southampton boat show brings in security hawk to protect chips

A hawk that usually patrols the skies of Wimbledon keeping them free of pigeons is set to swoop into Southampton International Boat Show to keep people's chips safe from seagulls.

Rufus the Hawk has been appointed 'Head of Seagull Security' at the Southampton event, which takes place next month, and will be tasked with keeping pesky seagulls away from people's chips.

The Disney+ thing is just when they accepted the Disney terms, they did also hold Epcot tickets. However I agree that it’s irrelevant for this case as it happened at Disney Springs outside the theme parks and at a third-party restaurant (Raglan Road) therefore why should Disney even be involved when they didn’t employ the waiter who caused the issue. Feels like someone suing Westfield shopping centre because of an issue in Nando’s, why involve the landlord at all?

Everyone talks about a hypothetical doomsday scenario, like an asteroid or an alien attack, but if we gave cats Pose-able thumbs, that would be a more likely game over.
