Sustainability Efforts at Alton Towers

Merlin have apparently extended their recycling deal with Coke and you can now win ‘money can’t buy prizes’ for using the reverse vending machines at the parks.


On a side note, fellow oldies may remember when thought went into every little detail, including vending machines like this one themed to its location in the ATH.

It’s a shame those days are long gone. For example this lovely piece of theme park design at Chessington where the beautiful vending machine blends seamlessly in the Wild Woods area right in front of one of the key sight lines of Vampire.

Why didn't those machines just go on the opposite side, built into buildings? As you say that area is open as it gives a great view of the coaster! Its as if people don't think more than one step ahead anymore.
