The interiors of those Monorail stations looked a lot smarter back in the day. Who knows what they were thinking when they decided to paint them sick yellow...:/

I noticed that too. People say overhyping is a new thing in marketing. This clearly proves overhyping has always been there.
Every monorail you've dreamed of in one. Not so much technology has been put into a monorail of it's kind. If you go down to the monorail today, you'd better bring a fiver or two (for the parking).

That's on a par with "Ultimate roller coaster".

Great photos yet again
One thing that has always intrigued me, when was the exit door from the Towers Street station shifted from the side to the front, replacing one of the windows and kind of ruining the symmetry.

The Towers one above is very interesting - I always wanted to know whether those covered statues currently on the walls of the Armoury in Hex's queue were original - seems not according to that picture. Such excellent theming, they look so creepy, especially when you're waiting there for a long time

Lots of people, a two cycle wait is only 10 minutes for what is considered one of the best mad houses in the world

Wow, this thread is really a gem!! Must check back more often.
Monorail fact: over the course of the first season of operation it appeared that in the mad rush to get it open, they'd made a huge error in specifying the supports, and so the system was only run on peak days towards the end of the season, while each and every support was taken down and either modified or re-fabricated.
Looking back atEnterprise Energizer and the (relatively few) shots of it in X-Sector, and having ridden it as Boneshaker, makes me think Submission was a huge mistake. Is it true that somebody managed to get it to invert in manual testing without passengers, massively fatiguing the gearboxes and causing it to be run on tamer and tamer programmes?

On this weeks Talbot Street Tuesday we take a look back at Forbidden Valley.
Here is the putting game, it was later replaced by the lava lump and is now home to Nemesis Sub-Terra.
This is now the site of Nemesis Sub-Terra.
The lava lump. Notice the old Dynamo queue like, some of which is now used for Nemesis Sub-Terra.
The trampolines and lava lump
Here is a closer look at the trampolines.
Nemesis Nosh on the left before the Fresh Fish & Chips building.
McDonalds (now Burger King) and the old Blade entrance opposite.
A closer look at the McDonalds Generator unit.
Lockers which have now been replaced by Forbidden Truckers and the entrance to The Blade. Taken from what is now the Nemesis Sub-Terra queue line.

This week's Talbot Street, we've gone all Scarefest themed!
As a haunted twist to this week's Talbot Street Tuesday we look back at some of the attractions which have featured in Scarefest since 2007.
The iconic skulls left over from Alton Towers' earlier Spooktacular events. These were used until 2008, after which they were replaced by the current scarecrow theming.
The now iconic hearse has been used for every Scarefest so far, but do you remember the ghoulish hands from 2007?
Fright Lights in Her Ladyship's Garden in 2007.
The Haunting of Algenon's Attic (2008)
The Haunted Hollow: Live (2007-2008)
Roaming street artists in 2010
The much missed atmospheric lighting in Katanga Canyon in 2010
More Katanga Lighting
Trick or Treat Doors in 2008 with its original set, but in its second location on Fountain Square.
...and Trick or Treat Door in 2010, it's last year in Fountain Square, but its first with the new stage set.
Hex Live, an experimental attraction in 2010
Skelvins short-lived Haunted Adventure. One of several attempts to use Duel for the Scarefest
The much missed Field of 1000 Screams
The Boiler House in its original location, and with its original signage in 2008.
The Boiler House in 2010, it's last year at the Hotels
The Boiler House in its final incarnation in 2011 using the Black Hole entrance.
Finally, another rather recent shot, but a flash back to the past few years which has seen the conservatory used for the queue-line of Terror of the Towers

Fright lights. By far the worlds most random laser show ever.
"Ok we are bringing back Scarefest, how bout we turn her ladyships lady garden into a big outdoor club"
As for the lighting it really Is a shame they didn't invest in anything like this for this year. Just from those two photos you can feel so much more atmosphere then there is on park this season, it's those little touches that make the difference, like the spot light on Oblivion from a couple of years ago. And the lighting effect that was at the end of Rita's launch a couple of years ago too

I have definatly missed the lighting around Katanga Canyon and the Rapids this year! The atmosphere around there was truly haunting in a very mild way if that makes sense
Everything looked so picturesque and beautiful and you weren't just riding a boat down a dark trench with white lights glaring in your face!
Haunted Hollow live was also one of my favourite parts! I so wish this would come back! It almost makes the investment seem worth it, plus they only have to hire staff for a couple weeks
Silly Merlin >.<

Some people really do know how to ruin the fun for everybody else
DaveW said:I think it may of been down to the added cost of hiring more security to protect the actors from idiots that think its amusing to salut characters in that area.
