A glorified boat ride with some dungeons at the end? No thanks

People has said it will use the hardware from sub terra- can’t see it myself without some serious excavation works. For a start it’s not gonna be easier to get the hardware out of sub terra surely? It seems to be like they are scratching around with what they have on site to fuse a ride together.

Not great at all. But after the success of the Wickerman I wouldn’t expect anything major this year. For a start the results for the fiscal period would not have been decided or finalised yet so budgets would still be based in old results

To me this is a missed opportunity. Nothing wrong with the idea of dungeons - they would be great in the towers (in an actual dungeon)

Still I would take low investment next year and a nice big high budget 2020 ride (which I can’t see with thorpe project 2020 on the horizon)
 
I think opening a dungeon attraction where CATCF was is a bit lazy. This has been the site of many family dark rides which have entertained many a family. Even in the dark days post smiler incident we had to wait 30 minutes to get on it so it was popular even then. Where has all this creativeness gone ? Where have all the family attractions gone? Sad days. When I answered the quesionare and said yes to an all year round pay extra attraction I thought it might be based on subterra retheme or a dungeons in the towers like at Warwick. Using CATCF site is just sad :-(
 
Have they officially confirmed whether it's in the CATCF building? If they haven't then I think best case scenario is Towers is pulling a sneaky and they're gonna spend the winter building around Sub Terra, and putting the Dungeons in there, then (I wouldn't even care that much if they wait a bit and do it during summer or even Winter 19/20) redo Cloud Cuckoo land as the kids area it really needs to be

They have not confirmed the location, but I can assure you that it is going to be in the Charlie building. Any construction work around Sub Terra would require planning permission which they do not have.

Fair enough, I just thought with Sub Terra being pretty much stripped and then all of Project 42 looking to have very much temporary theming that they could try it. I definitely think they need to keep Cloud Cuckoo Land to be a kids area and I don't know if they could do that with a dungeon in it

Used to enjoy CCL as a younger kid so maybe it’s not a re theme it needs just some updating, cleaning, Retheme and add a couple attractions. Would also love to see Actors in the area, even if it’s just 2 or 3, really get families involved and get them to stay in the area longer than 5 minutes .

Good spot, but I think you’re crediting Merlin with more foresight than they perhaps have. Albeit, as a completely uneducated guess, I feel like CCL won’t see a complete retheme for next season.

I asked a member of staff when I was there her lips were sealed but she said she knew where it was going
 
I don't even think Alton Towers knows what they're doing with Sub Terra at this point, or why they were given it in the first place, in such a bizarre location, in an unfinished state, which such convoluted operational costs.

Totally not what the park needed, just what was decreed by the infallible board of marketing geniuses at Merlin HQ instead. Were it thought through much better, could have been fantastic.

Sub Terra is totally unrelated to the Dungeons. Initial plans have been made to reopen it every year now, and never has, probably never will.

I heard a rumor that if successful the dungeons will eventually go into the coach park area. I also heard sub terra will reopen in 2019 but another ride will close ..... Which can only be blade really as I can't see them closing nemesis or air. Personally though I can't see the coach park suggestion being true .
