Just watched a POV. I wouldn't usually advocate for a review based on a rider-shot video, but am comfortable doing so in this case.
This looks alright. I'm not a fan of Walliam's sub-Dahl source material, but the storytelling and show programming looks fine if nothing spectacular; probably representative of the book. I don't think dark rides should be shoehorned in quite so aggressively as this, but the intimacy seems to work in its favour. The staging in unexpectedly theatrical.. The penultimate scene that attempts to blend a physical model with moving visuals looks very flat (pun entirely intended)
Given it's audience, which I guess would be those too old for CBeebies and for whom Hex might be a touch overwhelming, it doesn't seem dynamic enough. It's probably more suitably for five-year olds than nine-year olds?
As has been repeated ad-infitum in this thread, this really should have opened alongside another ride.
