Shawn is a friend of ours and we've know him for many years. He is a great guy and I've have nothing nasty to say about him. Like I've said before, we've know him from visiting Alton but we've never originally knew him from his Vlogs or before he actually worked on the turnstiles. Jess and I fully support what he does, it's his choice and I wish him all the luck in the world for him to do what he loves to the max. I just get upset the way people post about him, all I can see is people are simply jealous. He is a good lad with a heart of gold. To be fair, his Vlogs don't interest us, but that still don't alter the fact that he is a good friend of ours and that we would never criticise what he does or his followers. We support him 100% .
That's exactly it, nothing more...Jealousy.

I enjoy his videos. I find a lot of enthusiasts on YouTube (American especially) have such a God complex, you can really hear the arrogance in their voices,
Shawn however comes across as a down to earth guy and I like his humour.

I can see the love for him and the hate - I guess you have to meet him to firm a proper opinion. You guys who have all have good words to say, personally I find the videos annoying. But the. I don’t get the whole YouTube culture anyway.... each to their own I guess.
All I will say is good luck to him. To be doing something you love and potentially turning into a career is all of our dreams. Can’t knock him for that.

Genuine question for my own curiosity more than anything, and not just related to TPWW. I’m presuming once vlogging becomes more of a career than a hobby that you have start paying tax on YouTube earnings by registering as self employed and filing for Self Assessment?
Yes. All income will be taxable and you would be subject to NI contributions. It would be no different to any other employment.

With the amount of tax being paid on tickets, transport, equipment, even clothing and food, which would all be able to be claimed back, I should imagine it is a very 'tax efficient' income!

A YouTube I follow recently hit 200000 subs and they posted a vid of what income they get now,
Gross about $7500 a month.
There’s no wonder TPW can go to all the parks they do.

Getting paid to do something you love doing. That’s the life

I would imagine he will get into some parks for free and events for free now as well - it’s free advertising for the parksA YouTube I follow recently hit 200000 subs and they posted a vid of what income they get now,

That's the part I'm not sure I agree with. If you spend all the day on park recording and narrating videos, capturing footage etc, then spend all the evening editing, collating and uploading videos, then I'd imagine that takes a lot of the thrill out of your day.Getting paid to do something you love doing. That’s the life
Let me give you a simple example. I used to do mystery dining. I'd go to a restaurant, order a main and dessert, and then write a detailed report when I got home. They would reimburse the cost of the meal. However I found I didn't enjoy the meal as I had to make copious and detailed notes, and if anything wasn't right then I had to deal with the problem in a very specific way, complain, document their response and my counter response etc... Later I gave it up and decided I'd rather pay for the meal and not have any of the hassle. It was much more enjoyable when it wasn't a job and I could just enjoy the moment instead.

... BPB owned by TPW ... now theres a thingI moved from local government officer to gardener because it was my hobby, and I wasn't sure of what to do next after twenty odd years.
No regrets at all.
Good luck to him.
Hope he really gets the money rolling in and buys a park.
