Trailers had a refurb last year was one of my favourite mazes its not too old given Saw Alive lasted way longer than it toIn my opinion, for the ideal Fright Nights, they need to:
Ditch Trailers. Far too old, and these things aren’t free, I don’t want to be paying all that for a rotting maze, even if it is very good. It’s outstayed it’s welcome.
Ditch survival games. Never worked very well anyway, felt like I was walking around a laser quest arena that they dumped actors into - bless ‘em, they tried their best, but it was not easy for them to scare.
And finally, go back to conga line. A problem I have with mazes like Stitches, which I “objectively” thought was excellent, is that you could miss a lot if you got a “bad runthrough”. Furthermore, I think the scenic detail is good enough that it could warrant a HHN adjacent conga line. It would also help capacity on these things, which aren’t good.
Of course, this would require changes in some of the scenes, but I’m starting to think it would be ideal.
It just feels a shame to have it not firing on all cylinders when I am paying for this in particular, it feels like they don’t hire enough actors, scenes with good scares are left empty, and that’s disappointing.

yeah vulcan peak from reviews in 2018 did not sound great at allI'm not a scare maze fan at all and don't follow the scare season that closely, but was Vulcan Peak not the maze that got heavily panned because it just consisted of you wearing a bag over your head and having people whisper in your ear?
I seem to remember pretty negative things about that year of Fright Nights in general. I remember reading a review (it might even have been on here!) that called it "quantity over quality".

Relativity has nothing to do with it. Saw went on for far too long, and that’s no excuse for Trailers to stay for a decade either, especially in an event with a smaller lineup. Compared to somewhere like Tulleys where them keeping a few “classics” is okay, as there is a huge amount to do, and there is always a few new things as well.Trailers had a refurb last year was one of my favourite mazes its not too old given Saw Alive lasted way longer than it to
I am fine with Mazes remaining so long as they do have changes every few years and good thing with Trailers its adaptable into many different themes given its cinema theme the different sets can changeRelativity has nothing to do with it. The only two “new” rooms we’ve got are repaints. They don’t seem interested in making meaningful changes to the experience.
Wouldn't be surprising it is 2nd handAnyone noticed zodiac has been closed for a while, could this be at end of life too ?

Just back from our first trip and sadly Zodiac was still closed. Quite a lot of rides were closed till around lunchtime, with Hyperia not opening till about 2pm, which with all the school trips visiting was as chaotic as you can imagine.
Did get a back row ride though, don't know which train but was pretty smooth!
Hot take but compared to the other Merlin parks i thought the food options at Thorpe were brilliant. Can't vouch for the quality of course but the amount of choices were great, there seemed to be things everywhere too and they were all open compared to the other parks where even on busy days half of the establishments seem to be closed.
Ghost Train was quite entertaining to do once but never again. Overall a wasted space i'd say.
Overall we had a nice day considering the crowds, weather and initial poor availability. The place is a dump in many ways but it's also quite fun and everything being crammed in together is quite handy. It's a bit like going to Southend with better rides.
They should've gone for a Vekoma Madhouse themed to a tube train for that attraction.Ghost Train was quite entertaining to do once but never again. Overall a wasted space i'd say.

Actually my wife said it really reminded her of Hex. Personally i'd hate that though, i find them such a boring ride in the sense again that once you've seen the trick, you don't need to ever experience it again as the actual ride isn't any fun. It's interesting seeing alternative presentations of it i suppose but i'd much prefer some kind of dark ride or even a better a unique ride system like Danse Macabre.
Could I ask you how Hyperia is? I haven't done it yet and I'm nervous.Actually my wife said it really reminded her of Hex. It's great! I've been on it twice before and this was my first time with my son. It's intense but didn't find it rough and equally it's over quite quickly. What aspect are you nervous about? Have you been on anything similar?Could I ask you how Hyperia is? I haven't done it yet and I'm nervous.

I like it. The restraint type means you're falling out of your seat but obviously you can't actually fall out so it's a fun sensation. The lifthill is very fast too so there's not a lot of time to dwell on it. Would highly recommend finding your fearless.
I find the beyond vertical drops of SAW etc much less.... fun.

Nah, it should have just been a dark ride. Maybe with 3D screens or something. The tube train was the big mistake, why simulate something you can ride anyway a few miles away. They should've gone for a Vekoma Madhouse themed to a tube train for that attraction.

Honestly, that should've been the site for Hyperia and we kept Loggers Leap insteadNah, it should have just been a dark ride. Maybe with 3D screens or something. The tube train was the big mistake, why simulate something you can ride anyway a few miles away.

I'm not sure if Drayton originally got it new but if so its younger than most members on here.

Build Hyperia right and you could of had a dark ride under the supports as well as the coaster a bit like older wooden coasters having buildings under them!Honestly, that should've been the site for Hyperia and we kept Loggers Leap instead![]()

On Coasterpedia, it doesn't seem to have had any parks before Drayton although it doesn't necessarily mean brand new. It could've been travelling and it's listed as a different enterprise?I'm not sure if Drayton originally got it new but if so its younger than most members on here.
