Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Not sure if it's the reason but there was an issue with Walking Dead where the park realised that due to the shared lapbar it was possible for someone to climb/fall out of the car. This is why it's not permitted to take a row to yourself and single riders must be paired with another single rider. That could explain the reason for what seems to be an unusually high height restriction. However I suspect it's more likely to be being used as a filter for age-appropriateness of the theming.
For both Saw and Walking Dead, I am certain the 1.4m height restriction is because of the content of the ride rather than the actual ride restrictions.

Saw would've been 1.2m (or 1.25m) and Walking Dead would be 1m if going by the ride restrictions most likely.

Walking Dead can be a little eerie but not to the same level as a full on scare mazes. Really depends on individual.

I guess Walking Dead the Ride has same principle as Nemesis Sub Terra where Sub Terra could be below 1,4m however due to theme it requires that 1.4 height restriction as its geared towards that demographic

The restraint requirements in the UK are identical to the requirements in mainland Europe, so if they're good enough for Zadra & Untamed they should be fine over here too.
In that case, I'd say it is possibly a vicious rumour that is fueled by UK parks not getting an RMC...

I'm sure the reason we haven't got an RMC yet is because Merlin haven't opted for one, Blackpool hasn't got enough space, Paultons are not quite at the RMC stage yet and the rest of the parks can't get one for one reason or another. Although those other parks could be wildcards on getting an RMC.

Didn't X:\NWO open as 1.4m though
When it was backwards, it had a 1.4m height restriction. It is possible it might've been lower on the first season like 1.2m but someone might know if this is true.

When it got rethemed into X, it had a 1m height restriction.

It reverted back to 1.4m when the Walking Dead retheme happened.

If they did use the rumba site I would like them to utilise the slight undulation it incorporates.

I was also surprised the loggers canyon was never used on hyperia as it's quite a feat of engineering. I'd like to see them use the small amount of height the rapids has as a feature as the park otherwise is very flat.

A family coaster is what I'd like to see but like others have said sound could be the issue.

I'd like to see a rollercoaster at Thorpe properly use terrain, as this is something that Thorpe definitely lacks.

Good to see the TP social media team at their normal tomfoolery again. Claiming this photo is from 2016, but that closest section of track definitely looks repainted…

Didn’t know Colossus got a partial repaint in 2016, guess you learn something new every day 🤦‍♂️

Maybe didn't look as worn out as did prior to its repaint

Put the car horn indoors they said.
Make it go off at seemingly random intervals, they said.
Put it right at the point you might actually be queueing up in, they said.
