Thorpe Park: General Discussion

You can't say that for certain though, as we have no idea what they are doing. All we can do is just wait and see.
All the evidence points to that. The "back in 2026" demolition of the entrance just a week before opening. They basically admitted they have no plans for the area in the closure announcement. Not even pretending its for future developments

My thinking is what's the point.

It looked fine imo as amenity beach which they drained when they wanted to use the space as events. I get it would of made more sense had they built the stage but then they axed all the entertainment so no point building a stage. At that point half of amity beach had already been demolished so I'm guessing this was a cheap way of paving over the area without restoring the pool or putting in a stage. It doesn't add anything to the park though. No one is going to buy a ticket because of this so it just seems a waste of.money

Stealth briefly opened today but only lasted a few minutes and has been down ever since.

Enterprise isn’t even on the app anymore which doesn’t bode well.

By 'Enterprise', are you referring to Zodiac?

Also: does anybody know how people managed to attend today's Rehearsal Day at Thorpe Park?

Is it strictly for friends and family of the staff, or does Thorpe Park also invite vloggers and/or members of the public etc along as well?

P.S. I have heard that Hyperia is possibly still only running one train, as the second one might still be in Germany to undergo "modifications" (backwards or spinning seat?).

I am!

Think it was a private buy out day not a “rehearsal “ though it inadvertently acts as one.

I’m likely going to next weekend so will update on Hyperia if i do.

I never understood this; the lakes at Thorpe Park are enormous, but yet - due to potential flood risks - they are only allowed to infill tiny portions of the lake to be used as land.

This makes sense on the face of it, but:-

(A) The lakes are not natural, and were only created in the first place due to artificial excavation of a gravel pit, so what would have happened to the excess rainwater if the excavations had never taken place? (Or, indeed, prior to the 20th century excavations)

(B) I believe the original plan in the 1970s was in fact to infill all of the lakes and return the land to agriculture, and this plan was partly abandoned due to cost / time / disruption to neighbours - not flooding, as such

Most speculation I have heard is that the Rumba Rapids space may be used to give Stealth a Top Thrill 2-esque extension, but I'm not sure if this is likely.

Incidentally: John Wardley said in "Making Thorpe Park" that he originally wanted Stealth to be longer (but Merlin didn't want to pay for the extra track), but I'm not sure where the extra track would have physically gone in the park? (If anybody knows the answer then I would be curious to hear!)
Or, instead of building the rides over land, you build them over water (it has been done quite a few times before, velocicoaster has a significant section over water, and quite a few other rides have.
not sure on the themeing (although would they need much?) but it could make quite a bit of space for a ride.
