Thorpe Park: General Discussion

In a devastating blow to Drayton Manor Park & Zoo, it would appear that (as leaked by RunThrough earlier today), Shockwave / The Wave, will be relocated to Thorpe Park later this season.

Small mercy is that it doesn't appear as RunThrough are using AI in their promotional material at least.

If this ends up in a YouTuber's video, or ends up being speculated in a comments section, I swear to goose...

I am assuming that this is just bad AI rather than an intentional April Fool's joke

(I have already seen some fake April Fool's videos on YouTube about rides being removed etc)

P.S. I would argue that The Wave going to Thorpe Park would actually be worse for Thorpe Park than Drayton Manor

Just bad photoshop, no AI

(AI doesn’t mean anything that looks bad)

I seem to remember that Merlin allegedly used AI to create the new billboard above the Thorpe Park entrance last year, and there were a bunch of mistakes in it, including the Hyperia logo being incorrect (see: https://themeparkguide.co.uk/news-page/AI-or-Not-Fresh-Branding-Unveiled-at-Thorpe-Park-Entrance )

Alton Towers also had a bad AI image in their gift shop of Nemesis Reborn looking incorrect, and I seem to remember seeing an image of Oblivion with three rows instead of two rows somewhere as well !

You can’t complain about fast track users whilst not only using it yourself but purchasing an annual pass that gives you fast track every visit!
To be fair when I’ve travelled 150 miles to get there and managed 3 rides all day before any fastracks, it unfortunately felt necessary, really wish it hadn’t been… Don’t usually buy them but when you’re paying a premium, you’d expect better. It’s obvious that Merlin are making a pigs ear of fastrack and RAP at the min.

I honestly cannot imagine visiting a Merlin park on a peak day. I don't have the patience for it and i'd rather not go.

I similarly bought fast track when i visited Disney and Universal in Japan but they were potentially once in a lifetime trips and the parks would have been intolerable otherwise.

Merlin parks that rely on repeat customers through their subscription model yet still force people to buy Fast Track to have a decent experience.... yuck.
