Great round, everybody!
Now I've covered the Round 5 results, I think it's about time we moved on... as Round 6 has been extended by 1 day due to an extension request, I cannot cover the Round 6 voting stage right now. As such, let's move onto the next round...
Round 7 Building
Seeing as we've now completed Round 6, I think we need a new round to sink our teeth into, so it's time for me to reveal the Round 7 brief! The Round 7 brief is... The Walking Dead: The Ride Replacement at Thorpe Park! The context for this round is as follows:
As this round requires a building, I am expecting you to build within a building this time as opposed to within a template. The building is designed to roughly parallel the dimensions of the pyramid portion of the Walking Dead building (the building height was extrapolated from the Hyperia planning application, in case you're wondering).
If you are on PC, I have constructed a pre-built building template for you to build within that can be downloaded via the following Steam Workshop link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3143596262
If you are on console, I regret to inform you that I cannot provide you with a pre-built template, as Steam Workshop cannot be accessed on a console. I apologise for the inconvenience.
All is not lost, however, as I have provided a step-by-step tutorial showing how to construct the building yourself. This can be accessed in the form of a video where I show myself building the building so that you can build along with me (I apologise if it's a bit crude...):
This can also be accessed in the form of a Google Doc showing written instructions with accompanying pictures, if you prefer written instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NEat5ltA2h8BuHQ6MmxNJ-QUZVvcnzTbU_aMcXxA_KU/edit?usp=sharing
Please measure your coaster's height using Terrain Relative height markers in build mode (this is the setting labelled with a mountain).
To submit, please build your submission, film a POV and off-ride shots of it, and post the video(s) in this thread. You can briefly describe your ride if you wish. YouTube is the website I'd recommend for uploading videos to, as this would integrate best with the Google Form when it comes to voting, but if you want to upload your video(s) using a different method, then that's also fine. If you have any issues with recording or uploading your video(s), please don't hesitate to contact me. I will try my best to assist you.
May I once again emphasise that this is a coaster layout building contest. By all means add some light theming and landscaping if you wish, but the coaster layout should ideally be the focus. Quality of coaster layout is pretty much the be all and end all here; heavy theming won't gain you any points, and no theming won't lose you any points.
The submission deadline for Round 7 is Friday 2nd February 2024 at 11:45pm. If you struggle for time and would like me to extend the deadline, please PM me or request an extension in this thread before the deadline. If you do not make contact with me and ask for an extension, I will assume that you simply do not want to compete in this round and move on after the posted deadline.
I think that's all I need to cover for Week 7. Good luck with Round 7, folks! If you have any questions or concerns about the round or about anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am always more than happy to help.
Get building for Round 7, everybody! Round 6 Voting will drop tomorrow at 12am, and the Week 8 Weekly Digest will drop exactly one week from today, on Saturday 3rd February 2024 at 12am.

The constraints for the round are as follows:The ride now known as The Walking Dead: The Ride has been a stalwart resident of the Thorpe Park roller coaster lineup for 28 years. Initially existing as X:\ No Way Out, the ride was later rethemed to X, but was most recently given a Walking Dead reskin when the park wanted to add a little horror into its lineup. This is a move that Thorpe Park regrets 6 years on, though; with the park transitioning into "the home of feel-good thrills", they don't feel that a zombie-themed family coaster is befitting of their new mission statement. As such, they have finally decided to bid the coaster goodbye after 28 years of thrills and put something new into that space. The park have stated that you must reuse the existing pyramid building, and with Thorpe Park's location on a potential flood risk zone becoming ever more contentious with the Environment Agency and similar environmentalist bodies, they've also decided that it would be best if you didn't dig down either. But other than that, the sky's the limit! What will you replace The Walking Dead: The Ride with?
- Must Fit Within Walking Dead Building
- No Terraforming Allowed
As this round requires a building, I am expecting you to build within a building this time as opposed to within a template.
