I've noticed this happens when people use tapatalk if that helps.

& is the piece of text normally written on pages and sites to mean &. If Tapatalk is the culprit I can only assume it's something to do with the interaction of the software and forum. Joel will know more about it than me, but that should explain what it means when people say &

The site is messed up on my mobile.
It works any other time perfectly fine, but it appears to have a little problem.
It basically just has a load of blue boxes with question narks in where any images should be, and some parts of the forum aren't appearing.
Any help would be appreciated.

There was a DNS issue which although has since been resolved may take anything up to 72 hours to sort itself out for everyone. Give it a try later today and it should be fine, although it might take a couple more days for an unlucky few!

The home page doesn't seem to be loading any style and is just a blank white background with some text. It was like this yesterday when Joel was online, so I assume it's probably Joel messing with stuff
Tried refreshing the page a few times and it's not sorting it just in case it is a fault.

The site the image is hosted on can cause the warning to come up. The more information we get on they pages that are throwing up the errors the quicker we can get to the bottom of it![]()

Warning of dangerous content has happened a few times again today, this time on my 'unread replies' page. It is definitely the ad at the bottom of the page that is doing it as it shows it as blocked.
When I chose to display blocked content it displayed as 'The heart of student living. UNITE' advert.

Please please please, team, I urge you, launch the site (aka the park guide) within the next few days.
It doesn't matter if it's incomplete, or has spelling errors. It's crucial that we maintain the momentum we have now and not let it die with a prolonged development period.
Just launch whatever you have right now, hit the ground running, and build it up while it's live. I'm hugely grateful for all the work you're doing, but also really worried that if we miss this window, TowersStreet will wither in the long run.

Sam's right. Whilst it's all well and good having a thriving forum, a site is needed to go with it. What's been released so far is very good, but momentum needs to be maintained. I'm not at all doubting that work's going on behind the scenes, yet new content needs to be released to ensure that people remain interested in visiting the site. Just one or two new pages every week or two could, at this stage, be enough to keep traffic up, and as more and more new content is released, traffic will undoubtedly increase. I know I'm probably stating the obvious there, but it is of the utmost importance that people remain interested in the site and what's happening.

Rest assured, there is an awful lot of work going on behind the scenes, getting as many parts of our site into a launchable form. The team have been working tirelessly to ensure everything is right. We've all worked hard to give TowersStreet it's place in the Alton Towers community, and we wouldn't want to tarnish what we're working so hard towards by launching an unfinished product which is neither use nor ornament
We wouldn't want to be the online Sub-Terra V.1 now would we?
Rest assured the site is coming along in leaps and bounds. According to Google we are doing very well for figures, with us apparently ranking top for some searches thanks to our current content. We are all working hard on getting the site completed, but please do remember that 'real life' can get in the way sometimes, and as committed to this site as we are sometimes reality has to take over (Wether we want it to or not!)
It is all coming together and the launch is in sight, so please bare with us. But I for one don't think it would be at all fair or professional for us to give the world an unfinished product. New is good, but there's no point launching something new if it's rubbish and doesn't work
(Another little Sub-Terra reference there?
)

Individual pages would be great, but since pages in a particular section link in with the rest of that section, we've chosen to launch a section at a time.
Although it might seem like it's taking a long time, it's worth putting things into perspective. It's a mere 80 days since we made the decision to setup this new site. This was with no pre planning, no design in place and no content. In those 80 days most of us have had full time jobs to go to, summer holidays and changes such as uni etc to prepare for. All in all it's not left us with great deal of time to spare. That said, there's still work going on every single night with content being written and pages being prepared There's not going to be a 'grand launch', we'll launch sections as soon as they're complete and we're happy with them.
As Ian said, we want quality pages to go live. We've already got the SW7 site being regularly updated, some content online already and news being regularly written. With that being done and the work going on writing new content, all in all I think we're doing seriously well considering the short amount of time we've had! As soon as we can get other parts of the site online we will

I think sectional starting is the best way to go. Being too quick and giving general readers the wrong idea about site quality will damage the site in the long run. Hold out for a full site launch will keep the site of the general readers radar for far too long.
This way general readers will keep coming back as new areas come online, the more time they come back the more likely they are to stay as long term readers or even join the community.

Just browsing the stats:
Whilst new posts, topics and users have been going down since starting (which is to be expected without a full site) - it is important to notice that the highest # of users online has been roughly the same this month and last month which shows how active the userbase still is.
As for attracting new users, Google will surely be important for this - and I wonder if launching a main page for each section may help the google rank creep up before launching the full section? I'm not very knowledgeable about how Google works though - and I trust the team's hard work and dedication! I just hope that the launch of more pages gives the site the boost it deserves

Don't worry Sam TTF is currently even slower to update than TS is despite already having the whole site already in place. They've been going on for a while about big changes being planned but the only one they're released so far is the SW7 mini site. It was released after TS released the hub and while it does look better it's fairly basic and lacks features such as the timeline and recreation.
They are promising more new features to do with an update tonight but so far there's been no buzz about what's actually coming.
As you know I've still been following both sites because I believe there is a place for both of them. However as it stands there isn't much discussion going on over at TTF so I find myself always drawn back to this site. Most the members are either too new to engage in real discussion or only appear briefly to add their point before disappearing (I suppose I'm in that category). There are one or two members that could make it a lively place again but not enough yet to pose a serious threat to TS If we take our time with further updates.

As Craig has already said, the way our site is being constructed means that there is going to be a lot of closely knit features. This makes it very difficult to try and launch in individual pages or small groups, as without X feature, Y will not work and so on.
When we start launching parts though this structure should really help make our site as easy and pleasant to use as possible! It'll also help us keep our facts and figures up to date with greater ease, to ensure we're always showing the latest info. It means a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure it's all running properly, but it will be very useful when the site starts to appear

Ha this is quite weird to read after the team discussions about the site tonight (which was before I read all of this!)
Rest assured we're getting stuff up as soon as possible and we know that each day makes things worse in the race
We have already talked about some sacrifices to get the content up (the big one being our new ride guide is very wordsy and has no pictures as we're working as fast as we can like Tony Hart to get our gallery looking spiffing, but we know the content of those pages indexed by Google as soon as possible is best so we've made that decision so far to add pickchaaaass later!) as soon as possible and that should be something you see in the coming days
We've concentrated a lot on back end stuff recently too as we need to make sure we run a functional site that all our team can keep up to date, so we've been working on our "Magic HQ" too over the last few weeks to ensure that happens.
I have no idea what TT are upto this evening but I'm sure we'll have something good to share with you all soon too
