I’m pretty sure that the small shop at Pension am Park, across the road from the main entrance, is open on Sundays. It’s on the pricey side though. There are also some vending machines spotted through the village, including the infamous pizza vending machines.

I had a look at that, but their website suggests it may only be open until 11.30am on a Sunday.

The Food Garden in Rust is pretty good, and just a few minutes from the Hotels. Just check the opening times as they're not open every day, and keep in mind that all the seating is outdoors.

Pizzeria La Romantica in Colosseo is highly recommended, bit more expensive but still the cheapest hotel restaurant on resort. It's walk-up only though, so there may be a wait.

If you want something quick and easy (and I assume cheap) near the entrance then there is the Street Food Market at Hotel Am Park. I've never been myself, but I think they do pizzas and maybe some other things.

There are also numerous restaurants in Rust there are only a short walk from the park entrance. And it is not that long of a walk from the hotels to the park entrance through Rust.

Truthfully, a well rounded dinner at Europa-Park or in Rust will be in the 10-20 euro area pp. If you're looking beneath 10 euros, you're looking more at imbiss/snack food. But I'll take a crack at listing what I can / what I know. Be aware some places may close by 6pm on a typical park day, so if anywhere particular takes your fancy then make it a lunch spot and grab some snack food around dinner time instead.

On Park, near the main entrance, you have these quick service places:

• Walter's Wurstbude, by Voletarium - Currywurst, bratwurst, loaded fries, very good when it's open
• Burger Bear, by main entrance - Take a wild guess
• Black Forest Vogthaus, Deutsche Allee end- Bratwurst and other German snacks (go upstairs on the left hand side for covered seating)
• Mario's Pizza, Italy - Takeaway pizza slices
• Creperie Nadine, by Silver Star - Savoury ham and cheese crepes
• Tarte Flambee Stand, by Euro Tower - Savoury tarte flambees (ham and onion, cheese)

And places where you get counter or table service:

• Rock Cafe, by main entrance - Burgers, chicken, salads
• Bavarian-Baden Beer Garden, near Panoramabahn station - Bratwurst, chicken, German meatloaf
• Petit France, by Euro Tower - Counter service with salad bar, offers schnitzels, soups, pasta
• Pizzeria Venezia / Mille Fleurs, Italy / France - Counter service with salad bar, pizzas, pasta

These places all have veeery similar offerings so if you want something more interesting then go to somewhere in Greece (Taverna Mykonos), Netherlands (Bamboo Baai), Scandinavia (Fjord Restaurant's sandwich bar) or the remnants of Adventureland (SPICES).

Off Park, near the main entrance:

• Street Food Market, Hotel am Park - Decent takeaway pizza from 8 euros, hot dogs, fries
• Kaiserstühler Hof, Hindenburgstrasse - A mix of tarte flambees, rostis, schnitzels, pasta, fish
• Hardy's Bar and Restaurant, Hindenburgstrasse - A mix of burgers, ribs, chicken
• The Chicken, Karl-Freidrich-Strasse - Take a wild guess

Quick Q because I think I got tripped up on this last time I travelled to the park on public transport: does buying the Europass from Strasbourg include the bus from Ringsheim to EP?

And in reverse, if I buy a Europass on the day coming back will that work on the bus?

Yes, it will. You can buy the Europass on the DB app now but going from/to Strasbourg has complications:

My experience from last year is that for some reason the app won’t recognise Strasbourg as a station (probably because it’s not in Germany), so you’ll want to buy a Europass from/to the first stop in Germany. It will still be valid from Strasbourg, but the ticket won’t be valid until the time the train departs said station in Germany. As a result you’ll need to make it a time earlier than when you want to depart, but it will still work as it is valid for 24 hours.

Yeah, just about! So just book a train at 10am from Kehl or whatever and we rock up to Strasbourg at midday. Thanks darling!
