Universal Orlando (Studios/IOA) : General Discussion

Why can’t Universal just get rid of fast and furious supercharged? That ride detracts so much from the place it would actually be better if it was just SBNO.

Appreciate I’m in the minority here but I don’t think it’s that bad, certainly no worse than the Simpsons Ride IMO (both could really do with getting proper replacements of course).

Suspect they will get rid of it in the not too distant future though, I would usually say that there’s no point lowering capacity needlessly but that only applies if people actually ride it.

The rumours are that it will close with the new coaster highly likely to be fast and furious themed. On Universal guest satisfaction surveys it receive the lowest ratings out of all their attractions apparently.

With it not being that old they will reuse the ride system and retheme it-current talk is to some kind of Back to the future ride. With it likely just being a retheme should only take up to a year to happen. Whether they shut it this year though or what I imagine wait until the new coaster opens in 2027 and then open the the replacement in 2028.

Bit uninspiring name wise but it will surely be a much better coaster than Rip Ride Rocket so who cares.

Lots of angry Americans already moaning that its not Back to the Future themed.

Guess what our American friends.......that's coming to Old Blightly in 5/6 years. 😀

I’m interested to see what this is like! Do we know if it’s a clone of the ride in California or a custom layout? I’d imagine it would be custom with the hilly terrain the California ride is built on, but you never know!

This will give Universal Orlando a lot of launch coasters, though. With the demise of Rockit, I don’t think any of their large coasters actually have a lift hill anymore!

It’s a custom layout with a 1760ft spike.

I’ll mirror the thoughts of many, the coaster sounds great, the IP not so much but it’s invariably better than what was there before so all good.

Wow 1760ft! And we didn't think a new ride would beat Falcons Flight any time soon ;)
