Universal Studios Beijing

I hear there's a plot of land in east London going spare...
Unfortunately they'll be building "cozy lofts" each for 900K with shipping containers for restaurants because it's "trendy"

Although it should be noted there is a Portakabin containing an irritated Frenchman desperately trying to find a way to theme a Vekoma Boomerang around Shaun the Sheep.I hear there's a plot of land in east London going spare...

A cred is a cred though.

In a rather interesting move, it would seem that guests will enter Universal Studios Beijing using facial recognition technology instead of having to show a ticket:

Very interesting; hopefully it works better for me than fingerprint scanning did at Universal Orlando in 2016...

I mean, it's China. That's not surprising at all. My friend studies at Peking University and they actually use facial recognition to enter university.
It's a bit scary. When I went to China they did face/fingerprint scans at the airport but nowhere else. I believe they're rolling it out rapidly. It's a bit scary. (Not that it would stop me from going tbh)

This park just got interesting!
So Universal are using the Mack inverted powered coaster for something. And Jurrasic World is a good fit for the ride system.
Side note:
I see the concept art looks a lot like a Themed version of Universal Japans B&M flyer. But I'm glad they didn't do that as Crystal Wing, (the Superman clone enclosed by a themed mountain) is also in Beijing.

Universal Beijing has soft opened to invited guests, and @UpperLotPodcast have been posting updates on Twitter. There’s not a lot to report so far, but If the POV of their Jurassic World attraction is anything To go by, there should be some spectacular attractions at the park. Here is a POV

And yes, that is the Indominus Rex CHASING the ride vehicle along the ride path. CHASING

POV of Jurassic flyers, the Mack powered invert:
Looks very disappointing, having a platform under most of the ride just seems to kill the entire point of these rides. The first half in particular just seems to be a tour of the roof - great news if you like rafters, less so if you were hoping for raptors

Track and train, I actually think this looks better than Arthur. As an experience on the whole, however, this looks well below the par that Universal are typically expected of and capable of delivering.
Does it even have threechildren's slides by the entrance? Pfft.
Does it even have three
It's like someone went on Yoshi's Adventure Ride and said, 'This is way too exciting. Let's do something a bit more boring'.
I actually really like Arthur, and was surprised a lot of people rated it so low down in the recent topic about Europa Park's coasters. Although I see it more as a dark ride than a coaster. But this does look very mundane. Even if it had just one scene at the end it'd feel a lot more worthwhile. I understand that even at Universal and Disney not every ride can be an E ticket, particularly in a new park. But even a support attraction needs to have some entertainment value.

I hate being right!
I remember getting so hyped for this during construction then seeing it in opening day shots and hoping there was more out of sight we wern't seeing. It's actually even worse than feared, didn't realise the platform runs the whole length.
