Vaping in theme parks

I suppose one reason is why make a small proportion of your guests unnecessarily miserable when it's totally avoidable by having a few little areas set aside for people to take in some nicotine? Shall we ban caffeine in the parks too just to upset people who enjoy a drink of tea or coffee every few hours? Or is it just ok to ban the things you don't like?In America and Canada all the Six Flags parks (including legacy Cedar Fair ones) I recently webt to have now banned smoking and vaping within their parks and some of those are massive. So no reason all the UK parks can't follow suit.
No reason to follow Americans blindly either? In America and Canada all the Six Flags parks (including legacy Cedar Fair ones) I recently webt to have now banned smoking and vaping within their parks and some of those are massive. So no reason all the UK parks can't follow suit.
Americans can legally carry guns, and they have around 50,000 gun deaths a year.
Shall we change those rules too?
Because it is the american way?
Designated areas for smokers away from the main pathways...what is wrong with that?
Prohibition is rarely the answer, as people tend to break such rules...and rarely get punished for it.
Better to have agreed zones rather than prohibition.
Keeps the majority happy the majority of time.
Ten thousand deaths in the uk every year from alcohol, and the cost of booze related crime is estimated at around ten billion a year in the uk too.
People tend to drive to the Towers...so...
Ban all booze in theme parks too?

I don’t believe caffeine consumption has a negative impact on people around you so it’s not comparable.

The words of someone who hasn't been stuck in The Smiler's queue, in the height of summer, surrounded by caffeinated teens who have clearly overdosed on Monster.I don’t believe caffeine consumption has a negative impact on people around you so it’s not comparable.

Neither does vaping/smoking have any real impact on others when done so away from main paths in smoking zones. Yeah, you may get a slight whiff of smoke blowing from some distance away, but if that's enough to upset anyone then I suggest they stay at home and never leave the house.I don’t believe caffeine consumption has a negative impact on people around you so it’s not comparable.

Oh sure, I wasn’t advocating a ban and I agree designated areas is the answer, just pointing out it’s not comparable when one is for the health impact on others rather than banning things due to personal preferences.

Yeah, but I see those cardboard coffee cups littered all over the place and it gets me angry that people are making a mess. This has a negative effect on my mental health. So, it is comparable. Plus, as Goose pointed out, caffeine can lead to people becoming too stimulated and then becoming a nuisance through noise pollution etc.Oh sure, I wasn’t advocating a ban and I agree designated areas is the answer, just pointing out it’s not comparable when one is for the health impact on others rather than banning things due to personal preferences.

I think we getting to the point, as a society where a serious discussion on energy drinks is needed. Does seem to attract a clientele that doesn't seem to need an injection of energy in the first place
VAping. I asked a lad a who was working with me to only vape with the window down. That was the first of many arguments we had. I don't mind people doing it, be respectful and don't do it around folk. Vaping just brings an arrogance out in folk that even the humble smoker couldn't match.
Oh and stop throwing them out of car windows. Starting work at 4am, you do see alot of little blue lights flashing about the highways and byways of this country.
Double post, but different stuff so...
What about giving smokers special status as vip's?
Without them the state would have to increase taxation on all workers, as smokers contribute extra to the treasury, typically to the tune of a hundred quid a week...five grand a year off your taxes.
And, although they are generally in poorer health, they die much sooner, so save the state a fortune in old age care and pension payments.
Give them vip status, comfy chairs and shade...they deserve it...they are saving you money in the long run.
