VirtualLine - Good or Bad?

I’m going to break the mould and say that I like virtual line.

There’s clearly very limited numbers of slots each day and over the years I haven’t really notice me a massive impact on queue times personally. Maybe I just haven’t been paying attention.

I always get at least one a day (probably because I only travel with my wife) and often get 2 or 3 during a day.

As a free service open to all guests, I think it’s a “fair” system. Just ashame people have issues on the Android app.

But we all knew iPhone was better….right? ;)

I don't like VL at all as it is nothing else then queue jumping.
When all guests would use it then you would have problems to get a slot as these are limited.

I've only visited Europa twice, but both times the Virtual Line was fairly easy to use, allowed us to get an extra ride in and didn't seem to have a huge impact on operations. For example, last Thursday I was in the single rider queue for Voltron on my own at 9am while the family slept in. There were a few issues and the ride finally opened at 9:20. The VL didn't open until 10:20, so they had time to get things running just right. I got a VL for the family for 3:10, which was perfect.
I feel like their attitude to VL is correct - it's a 'nice to have' but with it not being a paid for service there are no expectations or requirements. I'd like to see it being more of a request service - you put all your details in to the app, and once you are on park on the day you can request a VL slot for a ride. You then get a push when/if it's been allocated. This would take away the constant app checking which I do agree is a bit poor.

Managed to snag 4 virtual lines for Voltron today so I guess it’s been helpful haha but I agree with the sentiment that it should be seen as a bonus and certainly shouldn’t let it dictate your park day. Europa is best enjoyed just exploring the areas and attractions organically and not rushing from one virtual line slot to another. The ride ops are also so good that none of the lines particularly drag anyways and they are all so nicely themed.
