Wearing Glasses At Parks

I normally wear contacts, but at the sandwich meet I could not be bothered so I just wore my glasses and the ride ops were a right pain about taking them off for everything!!!!!!!!! Even ben 10

I have worn them on Nemmy with no strap and never even had the feeling that they might come off. Its a bit annoying that they think that they will fly off at the slightest movement.

So I will have to make sure I put my contacts next time I visit Drayton, I am sure they did not used to be that bothered about it.

Or I might have to get a strapon......

I wear my glasses pretty much 24/7, I do take them off on every ride! (Apart from the family ones though I did get asked once to remove my glasses on Ben10 before! :)

I take a glasses case with me and put my glasses in there and then into the bag to save them from getting crushed but it can be annoying! As i really can't see without them and nearly fell down Thirteen's station stairs & trip over in N:ST and went into the people infront of me! It was rather embarrassing! :-[

I do plan to have contacts though, saves hassle of not being able to even see your friend infront of them with them off! So my advice is either take a glasses case or contacts!

I'd seriously suggest keeping them on for Sub Terra as if you can't see properly, you're missing out on a lot of the experience! The y won't come off, and if you're worried they will, then just keep them pushed onto your face during the drop

For rides like Sub Terra and Thirteen, people who think their glasses are likely to come off should probably pop in to their opticians and have the fitting checked, as glasses certainly shouldn't be that loose.

The same's probably not true of inverting and more intense rides, but even then there are very few rides where I feel I actually properly need my strap - I wear it more as a secondary safety, much like the seat belts on a B&M .

I'm definitely not suggesting that glasses bands aren't needed - I always wear mine, just to be sure - but making sure your glasses are well fitted (both initially, and having them readjusted if you accidentally bash or bend them) goes a long way to alleviating concern.

I think i only really take my glasses off on one ride at Towers now and that's Ripsaw.... I've always advised guests to keep them safe but like myself you just want to see where your going and enjoying the views!

I always take mine off, I nearly lost mine on PMBO as mine have quite a loose fit.

I did try a strap once, on Eurosat. The strap pinged off halfway round and fell into the blackness. I had to hold my specs for the rest of the ride.

I now have a pair of prescription (ballistic!) goggles that I use for airsoft. They have a seal around them which means I don't get anything in my eyes - water, bugs, etc. They did cost a lot of money though, and I do need to use anti-fogging on them, and ride-ops at Thorpe Park will take the mick. I will leave my actual glasses in the luggage hold. I don't think the goggles really suit me (they look like sunglasses) but they do make me feel like I am about to jet off into space or something.
