What'll I dooooo.... when you..... are far..... away......

That's the one, right?

First that came into to my head.

Has anyone else been on a similar radio station journey to me? BBC Radio 1, Heart, BBC Radio 2 and now……. smooth?

What’s next ?

Six music there...weekend mornings, crisps on the radio with fine familiar northern voices you know well but struggle to name.
Excellent station.
For old gits who love music.
Oh, and Thievery Corporation.
And for silly music, Gentlemens Dub Club, yet another dub of the dr who music.

That’s RADMAC. Best thing on the radio at the weekend except for Liza Tarbuck on radio 2 at 6pm on Saturday. It’s like having your favourite batty aunt round for tea.

One of artist that wrote way too much. But I doubt you will find many better albums than 1999, Purple rain and Sign of the times. Saw him in Leeds 10+ years ago. The best show I have seen. The talent he had was incredible.

Nothing compares 2 u prince.

Same, saw him at the O2 during his long run of shows he did, lucked out with the third row when all seats were the same price. Was definitely the best show I've ever seen.

He even did my favourite of his...

It's still awards season so thought I'd share my 2024 albums list.

I tried to listen to at least one 2024 release a week (not necassarily as it came out but at some point through the year) and I managed a fair few more, although there was still a few I never got round to despite wanting to, like that Kamasi Washington record. I didn't listen to anything I expected to dislike so avoided a few big albums from artists I don't like and a couple from artists I do like who I'd heard stunk the gaff out. I made the effort to listen to a big range of music including stuff I don't usually listen to. So generally I enjoyed most things I heard. A really good year. Only two albums disappointed me and only one was really Bad. Only albums are included except a couple EPs and mixtapes I felt were important enough to include, and I slipped in two 2023 projects because I'd not heard of them at the start of last year.

The top row is my 10s, the next line are 9s, two whole rows of 8s, a row and a bit of 7s, then a 6, a 5, miss a few and a 2.
