What attractions would you add?

I don't think they need any more coasters for a while, the line up is pretty complete as it is. If they do add any more coasters I think it will be for replacements (i.e. Euro Mir 2.0) or possibly a junior coaster somewhere.

I think the bobsled could end up on the chopping block at some point, that has to be getting towards end of life within a decade or so and is low capacity. However that would be a tricky plot of land to replace with a coaster and would probably mean that the whole Austria area would have to be reimagined. Would Mack really rebuild a bobsled coaster when they don't build them anymore?

I don't see them building any extreme flats although it is a part of their lineup which they don't really have. It might not give that much return on investment considering their target market. The pirate ship will probably reach end of life at some point.

A Mack Rocking Boat was rumoured as part of a Croatia expansion. The one at Futuroscope has just opened and it looks like a fun ride system with potential for a lot of immersion if a park went all out with the theming.

They do have quite a lot of dark rides although most of them are not quite Disney/Universal quality apart from Pirates. If they were to build a big budget dark ride they would probably need to build a large building so it would be a question of where that could fit in the park.

The monorail extension (or a cablecar) to Rulantica is something which I believe is on the Mack wishlist although there will probably be more roadblocks with making that happen compared to building a ride within the park.

The extension of the monorail is definitely in the works. Plans were approved quite some time ago, however I understand there have been delays related to agreeing other plans with the local authority, along with the other infrastructure works which have been ongoing. It’s definitely needed, to provide a genuine, joined-up, Resort feel. It will also increase the allure of Kronasar, which is regularly the last of the hotels to sell out of rooms.

As for attraction additions in the park, I don’t see any reason that they can’t install a thrilling flat ride. The argument that they’re a family park just doesn’t wash when you look at some of the intensity of their current attractions - Silver Star, Euromir and Wodan are all pretty intense and Voltron was clearly designed to be equally, if not more intense. A thrill flat is now the most obvious gap in the lineup.

A Rocking Boat does seem like an obvious addition, except for the fact that the rumours suggest its location will be in Stage 2 of Croatia. That presents a challenge of making it different enough to Poseidon which would sit right next door in Greece - the aesthetic at the moment feels a little similar, so to have a similar ride right next door too present a challenge (although certainly not one that cannot be overcome). It’s curious that there haven’t been too many signs of progress on the second phase of Croatia.

I also agree that another blockbuster dark ride would be a welcome addition. Piraten has really raised the bar, and with the exception of Arthur (maybe Voletarium), there’s nothing else to compliment it. I could see an EP take on Symbolica fitting in nicely.

I’d argue that the park also needs another show venue. We lost the regular shows in Piraten when the fire occurred and it has never returned or been replaced. The Globe is also a pretty poor venue, with awful sight lines and regular temperature issues. A show venue to compliment the big production show in Italy would go down well and the park’s demographic (especially in quieter times) skews towards those shows being very popular.

I don't see why they'd be adverse to a rebuild of Switzerland. They don't do bobs anymore and there is nothing of value being binned (although some sections of Trace du Hourra did seem very fresh last year?) They could even replace it with a junior sized version of their spinning coaster, with Matterhorn either getting a retrack or removed space dependant.

I very much doubt there’d be any major change to the Bob ride. A refresh/upgrade, yes; but a completely new and different ride, no. That’s not Europa’s style. They keep their rides and this ride in particular has sentimental value because of Franz’s involvement.

I mean you say they don't build them anymore (bobsleighs):- thats what Vekoma said about the tilt-coaster, and if any park was to replace a coaster with a similar or dig a design out the vaults - it's Europa! It's funny as i think Bob is a bit boring - whilst I LOVE avalanche at Blackpool - and wish it was the same! The thing Is Switzerland is so intimate and well themed - it doesn't really need touching!

Coaster wise I agree I think they have enough - however I do thing a suspended or flying coaster would work. A coaster close to Vekomas next gen SLC or F.L.Y would actually compliment what's on offer:- Whether MACK would have a go at these types of ride however?

Resort-wise, Immersive-golf (heavily themed crazy golf) as a mid-way attraction would be an enjoyable bolster to a multi-day resort stay.

Also I'd like Europa to do some sort of immersive trail - like Disneyworlds Pirate adventure (if you've every done it) or universal wand trails (although maybe something 'new' other than wands). I kind of like those sort of things that force you to explore the park, with some sort of pay-off (an exclusive animatronic or special effect).

Good news - they've already done this! Gold Rush Gold opened at Silver Lake City a few weeks ago.

I'd say the same, the EP bob is unfortunately the worst I have done, with Avalanche being better, the Intamin bob at Efteling better than that and Hourra as the best I have done.

A suspended family coaster themed to a ski lift could be quite cool and maybe they could find a way for it to fit into the space without having to rework too much of the existing theming/buildings.

Although would Mack jump into that family suspended coaster market? It is already quite saturated with Vekoma being the industry leader, B&M starting to build more of them and even Intamin have a model (although they haven't built as many). Plus they have Arthur already.

I'm not sure they would jump into the flying coaster market. B&M haven't built one in nearly a decade and Vekoma have still not built another one in the 5 years since FLY openened even though it is arguably a much improved design compared to the B&M models (and Phantasialand isn't exactly far away and it would be hard for Europa Park to better FLY without spending a lot of money). Parks just don't seem to be that interested in flying coasters for whatever reason. The last flying coaster to be built was actually a bizarre Chinese knockoff model in 2023 with a mix of a Vekoma Flying Dutchman loading system and lifthill and B&M style track and inversions with potentially the most intense pretzel loop in the world.
