You know you're getting old with every single tick on every single clock always reminding us of our inevitable and unavoidable mortality, how we're just a minuscule blip in comparison to the ageless, eternal void that is the cosmos, the grave reminder at each waking moment that our lives, our universe and our everything is futile...

Also the rising costs of Freddos, our chocolate rights have been COMPROMISED, damn it!
 
I can remember when 1p sweets actually cost 1 ******* pence...

As a kid in my local shop we use to go in and ask for the penny tray. the old lady would then pull out from under the counter a metal tray loaded with penny sweets and you choose as much as your pocket money could afford.
If you had a bit money money to spend then you could ask for the 2 penny tray, where the choice was better but ! only half as many sweeties in the bag... oh those big decisions of life way back when

but it isn't one ******* pence,
it is one ******* penny.

but it is my favourite nit pick,
and I know I have already got old...
My knees ache after a single loop of the Towers.
And I can remember twelve penny sweets to the shilling (5p).
