The World of David Walliams

Construction

In October 2019 the park announced that Cloud Cuckoo Land would be closing to be transformed into The World of David Walliams, confirming rumours that had been circulating for some time that the park were working with the celebrity author.

The new area draws from the author's most popular book with the headline attraction for the area being Gangsta Granny: The Ride, which invites guests to join Ben and his Granny as they visit The Tower of London to pull off the heist of the century. This brand new attraction is a tracked dark ride, themed around 'The Crown Jewels Tour', where each carriage is able to spin through 360 degrees, as the story unfolds around the riders. It takes the spot of The House of Monsters, which once once home to Wobble World, the park's indoor playground. For more information on the development of Gangsta Granny: The Ride, check out the dedicated construction archive.

The new world will also see two of the area's existing rides receive makeovers, with The Gallopers becoming the Royal Carousel whilst the former Frog Hopper becomes Raj’s Bouncy Bottom Burp. The ever-present newsagent will also be the proprietor of Raj's Shop, which has taken over the site of the old Wobble World Cafe. For its first season a temporary pop-up attraction, Flavio's Fabulous Fandango, is a late addition to the area's line-up.

Elsewhere in the area, the 4D Cinema will remain shuttered, whilst the Driving School will not initially be part of the new world, instead retaining its Cuckoo Cars overlay in a remaining corner of Cloud Cuckoo Land.
