Over the years, we’ve seen many changes to the resort’s annual Halloween event. Take a trip down memory lane at Scarefest attractions of old.

The park gained a little extra OOMPH in 2020 when they introduced Oktoberfest to their event line-up, bringing a taste of Bavaria to the Staffordshire Moorlands.

A host of familiar faces arrived at Alton Towers in 2024 to celebrate the 10 Years of CBeebies Land in style on the front lawns.

A music festival celebrating all the park’s big coasters. Headliners took to stages around the park, each representing one of the park’s big six coasters with a different style of music.

The park took it to the streets, in this celebration in the style of the classic New Orleans festival. Floats and dancers spread across the park to bring festival vibes to Alton Towers

For two seasons, Alton Towers celebrated Easter in style with Chocolate Towers. From a chocolate volcano through to a fleet of Easter Bunnys, Chocolate Towers filled the park with sweet treats.

Towers Street was transformed into a turn-of-the-century seaside resort for the summer months of 2006, complete with beaches, Punch and Judy and a show inside a giant inflatable whale.

Sixty years of heritage, ten years of Magic

The Royal Family descended on Alton Towers, when the park played host to a celebrity version of the popular game show It’s A Knock Out.

Over Summer 2011, the park launched a campaign to discover which of their coasters was the park’s All Time Great.

Between 2016 and 2018 Alton Towers embarked on a park-wide TLC. In the wake of the Smiler crash, this refresh programme saw several attractions depart from the park, alongside a lot of repair and repainting work.
