The first concert in just under 2 years to be hosted at the Resort is set to kick off in less than 24 hours, with the likes of Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, Labrinth, Little Mix, James Arthur, Conor Maynard, Stooshe, Union J and The Vamps set to play on the lawns.

The concert will begin at around 2pm tomorrow set on the lawns in front of the iconic Towers themselves, and it is expected to be one of the busiest days on Resort for the season, with preparations being made for some 20,000+ guests.

The weather has also took a promising turn with sunshine and warm temperatures expected for the weekend, which could draw further guests to the Resort for the theme park.

The Alton Towers team have been hard at work planning a smooth exit for guests when they leave the Resort later in the day and a guide to all things concert related was released by the Resort including the specific details of pick up/drop off and exit points through various exits to try and control the traffic leaving the park.

Several roads and diversions have also been established by the Resort to try and ease traffic congestion which been criticised previously when the Resort have previously held concerts, including the P!ink concert back in 2010 which found some guests waiting to get out of the park by car for several hours due to congestion on the narrow village roads around the Resort. Better plans were implemented in later concerts seeing a smoother exit after the events.

Concerts have been held at the Resort for several years, including an 80’s concert in celebration of the Resort’s 30th Birthday in 2010, a P!nk concert also held in 2010, a similar Alton Towers Live event starring  JLS, McFly, The Saturdays and Eliza Doolittle in June 2011 and the Black Eyed Peas played one of their final concerts at the Resort in July 2011.
