Phantasialand: General Discussion

They are Intamin/Zierer (track joins are the give away). Impossible to tell the difference seeing as they use the same track fabrication factory. However considering the the rumours of this being an Intamin are very strong I think we have our answer.

I thought Intamin had stopped using tubular supports in favour of I beam girders?
 
Hmm they have done more recently. But I don't see why they couldn't go back to tubular for something if they needed to. Or maybe it will be a Zierer in the end? Definitely not B&M though as they do not use circular track joins.

From what i have read online, parts with Intamin labels/packaging have been seen on site so it is likely that it will be an Intamin coaster.
 
Good point about the joint between track and support. Clearly not B&M then. Wasn't there talk of Premier a while ago?
 
Premier have similar track connectors but I'd lean towards Intamin for the footer style - the octogon at the base I think matches the base of supports seen here under Nefeskesen:

So that narrows it down to Intamin, Gerst, or Mack...

Also, there are some unusually tall footers there.
 
I'd not noticed that Verbolten was tri-track, but you're right.

OK, so it's pretty much anyone bar Zamperla, B&M or Vekoma then. :p

I don't think it's Togo either! :p

It won't be Mack, they use square track joins rather than the circular ones seen for this coaster, see Blue Fire here:

In the above photos I posted, you can see that the section of what looks like launch supports do indeed have square track joins. This would fit with Intamin's Nefeskesen which uses circular joins for the main track but square joins for the launch:

For me there is no reason to think anyone other than Intamin. Strong rumours, matching track/supports plus a good working relationship with the park. Despite the fact that Chiapas was delayed I would imagine Phantasialand are very happy with the overall product from Intamin. It is a very efficient ride system in terms of how it operates and they will know that Intamin can do the same with a technical coaster.

In the face of such evidence, I have to agree it looks like an Intamin. :) Let's just hope it has decent restraints. :/
 
Nefeskesen - the most recent Intamin Blitz - has lap bars so I'd be optimistic.

I'm assuming this will have a fair speed given the tri-track. Do we know if it will invert?

I think they're actually threatening legal action against people that post these pictures! That was part of the reason the last Phantasialand fan forum closed; they couldn't deal with the legal threats about Chipas!
 
You have to wonder what court would possibly uphold such a claim? No one "owns" light.
 
Yeah, they have quite strict photography laws there. This time it's to do with copyright(?I think?) because it's private land and you can't take photos of things unless you do it from a publicly accessible street.
