Phantasialand: General Discussion

A load of photos (more here) posted by the park of new murals in the Black Mamba queueline. So these will take, what, three hours to get graffitied all over?

The new guest services and annual pass office. Really, really fancy! Impressed! For a park that occasionally faces accusations of soullessness, they seem to be changing that with each new addition or refurbishment. They're steadily breathing life into the park. :)

There's loads more photos of various refurb projects all over the park, too many to post here, but check out their FB page for more every day. :)

I would say that the best thing about those murals is that they aren't templated, gives more of an impression of the "lived in" nature of the Africa area...

Certainly looks like they've just decided to go all out this year for refurbs, or perhaps it's just the difference of them actually promoting this additions/changes via social media...

The park itself is anything but soulless, the management's disagreements with the fansite over Chiapas was...

Although this isn't related to anything new at the park, through sheer chance, I've managed to find the one outdoor Wuze Town music track that's been eluding me since I was last in that area. I don't know if anybody else would be able to recognise it but it pleases me that I no longer have to scour internet searches for it.

A couple more photos that I've come across on Facebook:

It seems like aerial photos are all the rage now for new theme park project and when photos like this appear you can see why! Enjoy these new photos I came across on Looopings, from PhantaFriends.de:

This is bonkers! Looks like there could well be two launches as well.

:)

Just seen that there are also rumours of a Vekoma Junior Coaster opening next year as part of this new area.

A member on CoasterForce has also stated that they believe that this coaster won't be indoors, just covered laregely by rock formations.

:)

Overbank: the Ride.

It looks like some hills are starting to come into it though, but if there's not enough speed through those turns it could be a bit boring. Let's hope it doesn't crawl through the layout. There looks like there'll be plenty of near-misses, which should be fun though.

I'd imagine the intensity (or lack of) in this coaster will be determined by the launch speeds. Fast launches could create a very thrilling and intense ride. Slightly slower launches could allow this to be more family friendly. From what has been hinted so far I suspect the latter.

:)

I must say, this really is once again looking like an incredible investment/installation from Phantasialand, doing exactly what they did with Chiapas and creating a whole little world to submerge/immerse the ride within. I for one can't wait to see it progress!

I have also found this video on YouTube, showing a proposed layout of the coaster.

Now, I would dismiss this as purely a fan having some fun, however they layout they show fits and flows perfectly with what has already been built. It would appear from this rumoured layout, that the coaster may indeed be more family thrill than many had previously hoped for, however it does appear to be a nice mix of elements that Intamin do incredibly well, launches, air hills and lots of twists! It should make for a fun ride... That is if this is actually the layout!

Another thing that suggests we could be looking at the actual layout is that this is the same account that previously uploaded a video back in 2012 showing a no limits proposed layout for Chiapas, which turned out to be the exact layout! Obviously prior to that we did have a model of Chiapas, but it didn't show all of the 'enclosed sections' of the ride. But, I guess with this only time will tell!

One final thing to point out, in the last few days Phantasialand have installed a screen on the bridge between Klugheim/Taron and Chiapas. The same location where they showcased the Chiapas Model. So we could well be seeing some form of Klugheim promotion quite soon! :)

All in all, this is a very exciting time for Phantasialand! :D

Interesting. Looks like a solid layout. I just hope it doesn't have the usual Intamin restraints, or I could see this being a neck-jabber.

That's certainly an interesting layout and if it is accurate this coaster would be amazingly good fun with all of the theming added in. An inversion thrown in there wouldn't go amiss, especially as the park could do with one more inverting coaster, but I wouldn't have too many complaints if we got what was in that video. It's a great length!

:)

Looks like a nice headchooper through that support!

Some of those turns have some quite tight banking, making me think that at least some of this will be quite high speed and intense!

Phantasialand have released a new teaser video for Taron:

The coaster is described as Europe's fasted multi-luanch coaster. Helix currently holds that record so that suggests that one of the launches at least will be faster than 100kmh/62mph.

I love the music in the video as well!

:)

I guess fears of this having a slow layout can be put to bed then.
