Scarefest 2015

The queue line announcements kinda ruin it but still in cabbin last year the end scene having people grab you when your running out really adds to sense of panic from they group

Scare Maze tickets are now on sale, and in a surprising twist of events, all 3 mazes will now be charged for, at a combined cost of £20 for guests, and £16 for MAP holders.

Personally, this is completely wrong to me to charge this much, considering a few years ago it was £9 for 2 mazes, with it suddenly shooting up to £20. They better be worth the money if they can justify charging that much. To get in the park only costs approx £25 now with vouchers/pre-booking, which is outrageous.

In another weird twist, it appears to me that tickets for 19.30-21.00 are not on sale. Are the mazes having opening times reduced?

Mazes are also set to open from 13.00pm on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, and 15.00pm on the weekdays from 19th-22nd October.

Wow, that's a very poor show. I fully expected one maze to be free. Thanks Towers!

:)

As the time slots shown on the website are for guests to select the time of their first maze, I expect the later times cannot be selected as it may not then be practical to get guests through all three mazes before ride close.

I wonder how much they will charge per individual maze without the combi ticket.

It's disappointing that there's no free maze though. :(

That is atrocious. Three mazes at that price need to be of Hotel Gasten quality and there's more chance of pigs flying than that level of quality being demonstrated.

Even if all 3 mazes weren't free, I'd expect it to be £15 for non-passholders. That would be £5 per maze, ok for a high quality maze and that's before discount

Annual pass discount anywhere on park (apart from the Lego shop I believe) is 20%, so it makes sense to have 20% off the mazes.

The mazes are 20% off (with passes) aren't they?

And I'd like to see a free maze as well. Considering most people will pay £50 to get in, a further £20 is too much. I don't know many people who have a spare £70 per person in their group.

As always, very, very few people pay full price.

And people obviously do have that spare money or AT wouldn't charge it.

I don't think 20 is that bad, people pay that and much more for fastrack don't they?

Evidently I didn't read your last post properly, I thought you meant that annual passholders should have a discounted price of £15. :p

Apologies!

Tickets for Horror Nights at EP are €15 or €20 depending on when you go. Both those prices are cheaper than the £20 for three mazes at Alton Towers yet Horror Nights is a fully inclusive event with more mazes and an epic ice show. No hard to work out the better deal.

:)

I feel that this is a bit out of order. They are clearly not thinking about first time visitors to scarefest who would prefer to try out a free maze first to see whether the experience is for them or not. They are eliminating a lot of people doing this.
Sort it out Merlin.

I know that on my first visit I would never have paid £20 for mazes based on the understanding that I might hate them!

Personally, I don't think they are that overly priced. Whilst cheeper would be nice, if they are worth £20 then I am happy to pay £20. The problem comes if they aren't worth £20. For £20 I expect quite a bit.
I expect not to have to queue.
I expect the total experience to take at least an hour if not 2. (Tickets to the theatre are around 18-20 so a theatrical production should be similar)
I expect strong performances and effects
I expect to be transported to whatever realm the maze is set in.

It should be around £15, they are treating the scarezones as the free experience (now that there are two of them).

£20 is too expensive really but if people don't buy they will start running offers so it will be fairly obvious if their pricing strategy is flawed.
