Towers Loving Care

TM, the video you've found there wasn't the advert. It wasn't even publicly released as far as I'm aware; it was created to give everybody at Tussauds Studios involved in creating Nemesis an understanding of the backstory so that they'd all be singing from the same hymn sheet (I think it's pretty clear that this idea worked). That copy on YouTube is probably from a tape given out at the same event as the recording of JW was from, as he mentions the tapes earlier on.

The full length version of that was played all over the park, to promote the ride and hype it. A corporate video like that isn't produced for staff only. I remember vividly it was always played as the pre-show video in the old 3D Cinema. It was produced by Wordley Productions who did all of the parks promotional videos in the 90's.

Here's the full version:

So yes, that is the official story and series of events which made Nemesis what it is. If Sub Terra videos say otherwise, then they got it wrong.

Isn't the track supposed to be the thing containing the monster (in which case rust makes sense)? That's at least the interpretation given by the Sub Terra preshow video...

Yeah, i've seen a few posts refering to Nemesis' track being part of the monster when in the Nemesis X video and in Sub-Terra's pre-show it clearly states the track is to pin down the monster, not part of it. :)

Look, you're all wrong! Nemesis is an inverted rollercoaster manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, anything else is simply part of your imagination. Fact! :p

Also it pains me to say it but TheMan is right, this forum would be a boring place if we all agreed with each other all of the time!

:)

Thank you for that grudging compliment. :tearsofjoy:

That's going to keep me giggling all day. :tearsofjoy:

It's like, agreeing with me results in selling your soul to El Diablo...

You've been warned!!!! :smilingimp:

It used to be a HB leisure game, but was never open and earlier last season it was replaced by some crane grabbers.

TG Hughes?

Ok, now that we have the "track is definitely tentacles" issue out of the way, and anyone who says otherwise is going to really upset me (and the other observant ones), we can move on to the most important issue.....

Which is.... why on earth is the monster facing the wrong direction of the track? Currently, if we are it's food, then we seem to enter via it's bum. Then, we get vommed out when leaving the station.

Surely, it should face the other way so the end of the ride has guests going into it's mouth? But, I suppose that would mean we get 'pooped out' at the start.

Discuss.

When it first opened, it was definitely tentacles as far as I'm aware, but when sub terra opened the story in that was tweaked, and the track was referred to as the steel, then with this repaint I would presume it to be steel now, so the original was tentacles, Merlin may have wanted to change it to steel, so in a way it was a slight retheme of it I think. But then the station has track coming out of it, so that doesn't make much sense :p but really, we can think what it is to ourselves, I think it's a slight retheme, others think it's tentacles but each to their own, I may be wrong, but oh well...

Umm...maybe the reason of it's strange back to front eating habits are simply because of...well, it's an alien?

The nemesis creature is an alien which doesn't have a mouth and anus but merely entry and exit points.

It has no anus, just a mouth at each end. It converts all physical matter that enters it in to pure energy with 100% efficiancy. This is why it is able to survive for so long burried underground with no food. E=MC2 tells us that a single human being turns in to a lot of energy.

  1. You are DEFINATLY thinking far too deeply into the nemesis story.
  2. It's an alien, not a human. It would be different
  3. I doubt this even crossed wardleys mind at any point
  4. You need to find a hobby or something If You have the time to think of this ;)
