They look like targets to me, perhaps they are going to add laser guns to the Smiler carriages and we will have to try and shoot the targets as we whiz around the track :p

Talking of supports moving, I filmed this two months back...

You do realise that is completely normal right?
The supports need to have give in them or they would snap, Shambhala and Diamondbacks supports wobble like mad, as do most coasters, just some move more than others.

That is halfway up the support, that concrete is the roof of the indoor section of the ride and that support carries on down another 20 foot, hence why it wobbles there more than other supports do where they meet the "ground"

Brake 1 wobbles like mad when a car is on it.
interesting. i might be going to AT in July, so I'll watch the Spinball and see if i can see it, and maybe film a video of it on my camera as well (which i might then post here).

Apologies if this is the wrong topic but seen this article on Facebook and thought the image was inappropriate. I can't seem to attach the article but it involved a school bus crash on the way to AT and STV posted an image of the smiler on the article.

The article is here for anyone interested. But in my opinion it isn't really inappropriate and they don't mention the smiler accident so they probably just put the first roller coaster picture they could find.

What? You see a picture of a car, in the Alton Towers car park, and it's the first thing that comes to mind!

Vicky is looking good. Nice to see her getting to grips with the new leg, hopefully this means she can get on with a fairly normal life. It is just the PTSD that she and all the riders on that train need to come to terms with.
