Alton Towers Merchandise

I saw the th13teen shop had some decent mugs in. One thing I noticed Thorpe and Chessington fall down on is wearable merchandise and themed mugs. I only found a decent Swarm mug and no wearable merch at thorpe, and there was no sign of any good wearable merch or mugs at Chessington, only the same Vampire mug as last year.
Really? Chessington (when I went a few months ago) had quite a few themed mugs. There were CWOAR giant mugs, bubble works ones, and I think kobra. Not much wearable merch though. Dont think there was any.

I wish there were new seasonal Alton Towers mugs. I would buy a new design each year. It's been the rollercoaster design now for about the last 3 years. Need to stop making them bigger though. Have a novelty one alongside a normal sized one if you must.

My favourite one I use all the time is a glossy dark blue design with stars on. It's just a simple shape but still feels premium. The rollercoaster one is a bit awkward to use.

I haven't bought a mug from any park for a few years now, mostly because I've got way more than I need and have run out of storage. I still look though, and what frustrates me about a lot of the designs Towers have sold lately is that although they look nice, they're totally impractical. They're either uncomfortable to hold due to stupid handles even when empty or would be a complete pain to wash (looking at you, Rita bolt mug and Galactica wormhole mug).

Not sure if anyone's mentioned these but I'd go on Duel a lot more if I knew these were lurking in there...

Oh those balls! ... a few weeks ago I picked one up and half a dozen of them fell off the shelf all over the shop! .... bounce bounce bounce...

I just left them and walked away... wasnt me !

Has anyone else bought an umbrella from Alton recently and has it lasted longer then three days? I bought one a few months ago and i have only used it about three times and it's broke now and won't open properly, the metal wire has also rusted as well and has seemed to detach from the fabric.

mine lasted 1 day of fireworks and bout 2 days this year before I had to bin it !
oh well, was only a few quid, didnt expect it to last that long, 3 days use = bargin ! :)

I've decided to keep mine even though it's broken i can still add it to my ever growing merchandise collection.

thats a slippery slope to go down, saving things even thought they are broken...
next will be picking up soggy abandoned theme park tickets off the floor to save and preserve @Burbs

Don't go putting ideas into my head! i'll be standing at the turnstiles all day asking people for their used tickets :hushed:

If something has broken really quickly I suggest you get in touch with towers, on Twitter they often tell people to email in, so they might just replace it for you.
