Hi all, please excuse me if there is already a thread for this, couldn't find it myself.

I would love to know your thoughts and hopes for new attractions for 2017.

I'm hoping for a quality show (special effects?!) and a new flat somewhere!

Would love to know your thoughts?!

I think we'll probably get a rethemed Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and some more additions to CBeebies land (if there's any room).

I would love to see something where Ripsaw was but with it being earmarked as a future site for a coaster, it'll probably stay as it is for now unfortunately.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Dreamworks mini land added like they have done at Heide Park and Gardaland this year. I Can see a 'how to train your dragon' area added around Charlie, with Charlie & Twirling Toadstool rethemed and maybe a couple of kiddie flats like they added at Heide park.

Ideally we would see Charlie removed completely with the land and old coaster corner used for a new water ride and major dark ride but can see a retheme as the most likely option.

I can't imagine there will be much new in 2017 with SW8 coming up in 2018. I'd love to see a re-theme for Charlie but I don't think that will happen. A new ride in CBeebies Land would seem plausible; it would be easily marketable, cheap and as Galactica this year was aimed more at the thrill market a year aimed at younger families is probably due before 2018 being more the family thrill market.

Don't forget we also have the new hotel/ATH expansion next year!

:)

Maybe we'll see flats but I expect we'll see closed attractions re-opening and greater emphasis on TLC. Assuming that Hex doesn't open this season maybe something added over the close season, a Hex 2.0? (or 3.0 if we include the early story tweak)

I would like to see them add a flat ride to replace the ever dwindling line-up.

I also want to see Sub-Terra back open!! It's been, what, 3 years SBNO now?

Whoop whoop new cbeebies hotel ! Yes ! Get all the sprogs out of ATH. Give the adults some peace

On my visit a couple of weeks ago, the staff was very tight lipped about Hex. I was told it was definitely not going to open this year and that it was all part of the regeneration of the towers/cloud cuckoo land.

There was a hint that Hex might be given a complete make over/re-theme and the possibility of the ride experience made longer. But I couldn't get a definitive answer. I was told it was going to be very good.

I just hope that we don't get VR added to it. Hex is brilliant as it is, please leave it alone!

They should just leave Hex alone, all they have to do is fix the parking issue and update the effects and it'd be perfect. VR on it would be a disaster.

It was open at points last year before they seemingly gave up on it and left it closed. I rode it a couple of times last year after the restraints had been modified.

:)

I'm pretty sure it's been closed for a few years now.

It lost the actors last year, even when it was open, rendering it almost as useless as when it opened. The lowest rated ride in Alton's history by the end of it's third season! I doubt we'll be seeing it back, although I also had a soft spot for it.

Ahhh, I wasn't aware it opened last year. I thought it had been closed for a few seasons now. It still needs to return fulltime though!

I experienced Sub Terra one day last year when they were trying out new restraints. To say the whole thing was a shambles was an understatement. It then closed shortly after and hasn't been open since.

what I want to see next season:
  • A new flat ride (or two, things like the robot arms and dueling deadstars were always an option and have already been planned)
  • A new dark/water ride (like bubbleworks, but with actual theming) to replace CATCF.
  • A modified hex and sub terra to open (though I'm not saying I wouldn't prefer them to open later this season)
  • The budget brought back for entertainers and shows
what I expect to see next season
  • More rides to be closed "as part of towers loving care", including duel, blade and enterprise (with the latter two unlikely to reopen)
  • Further cuts to entertainment and F&B
  • The TLC plan to be cut and nemesis' station left in an almost comical state
  • Construction on sw8 to begin later than planned
Overall, im feeling quite optimistic ;)

2017 I reckon will be a small year with 2018 up ahead.

I think either a new ride or two in CBeebies land or retheme of Charlie are the most likely.

TLC will hopefully continue.
