2017: New Attractions for Cbeebies Land

I'd be a little shocked if it was Charlie, that whole Coaster Corner area doesn't strike me as development land. It's an old building/ride system though, I guess.

What sort of attraction could we be looking at, if it was 2017, surely there isn't too much time to build?

A flat, perhaps.

Anyone wonder if this could be another new ride for 2018, creating a new area between Mutiny Bay & KC?

Or could this be for the fabled water park extension that has been in the rumour mill for the past 10 years.

It's not too late for a minor addition which is what's expected at Towers in 2017 anyway.

Doesn't look like the application has been validated yet but I'd imagine we should see some documents next week.

:)

Could the Octonauts station come under an 'existing structure'? If they demolish that, build a new, more permanent station and install a small kids flat near or next to it, that would improve CBeebies Land and add something new.

I doubt that would happen, although that station is just that awful they really need something there that is of better quality.

Anyone have any idea of the detail the documents will go into? Will it reveal anything to hint at what this will be?

If they need planning permission for the whole thing, which they likely will if it does not fall in areas covered by permitted development rights, we should find out exactly what it is!

:)

Well if they want a second hand ride on the cheap, for the sake of adding something, I'm sure they could buy a knackered old Pinfari from M&D's. Something tells me they will need the money. And if it's good enough for Oakwood...

I strongly feel this is to do with CBeebies Land. However, it would be brilliant if the Charlie building was to make way for a new attraction.

Very much doubt Spinball is going anywhere.

The only issue with flat rides is that i heard Alton tend to shy away from new flats, due to them not having a high enough capacity. This does not explain why Thorpe have them in abundance, though.

Thorpe have lots of flats for a different reason. as far as I'm aware, zodiac and detanator were installed as a replacement for phantom fantasia and Mr rabbits tropical travels which were destroyed in a fire. Samurai was swapped with chessington in exchange for eclipse (peeking heights), as neither fitted the target age demographic for each park. There are reasons for the rest of them to, but I can't remember. Many of the flats were only intended as temporary attractions, but due to guest feedback were kept.

Thorpe got them when they were quick and cheap to install after the fire and also the reinvent the park to a thrill market, keeping things different from CHessington.

Alton could add flats, as doubles to increase capacity

Lets look at other rides capacities - The Smiler just hits 1000 on a good day, Rita is below, don't even get me started on CBeebies land :p Not as bad as Thorpe though!

Rita should always be hitting 1000, that was the expectation when I was there. Normal range between 960-1060 per hour

And it doesn't explain why Towers keep building coasters and dark rides with crap capacities either.

A park like towers needs its main attractions to be hitting at bare minimum 1400 per hour. Low capacity flat rides aren't too bad if there's an abundance of them. Really, towers needs about 5 new flats spread out through the park to make the line up back to what it used to be a few years ago.

No real ride removal. Plans show the removal of some maintenance facilities at the back of CBeebies Land behind the tent / next to the Kung Fu Training Playpark.

Addition of a round flat ride to CBeebies Land, looks like a Zamperla Jump Around or Mini Jet type ride?

This seems like an OK addition to CBeebies land, a Dumbo-style spinner and a meet-and-great (in the building next door with an outdoor queue). But they need to add to Cloud Cuckoo Land and X Sector as well. A kids flat would be great alongside an older kids/family flat and a thrill flat ride all in one year. But to only do the cheap kiddie ride means everyone else misses out and the older kids still don't have much to ride.
