2017: CBeebies Land Hotel

I dont think I am being ridiculous. Its a valid point. If you want to base the cost on it being per person then it depends how many people are paying for it. If four of us go to Alton and stay in the Enchanted Village, and we each pay £70 towards it, then it could be argued its not bad value, particularly if we are all aged as such that we will make the most from our stay. If 4 of us go and only 2 of us are paying then it changes the value factor.

That's also what most parents are saying on the Alton Towers media channels - £430 a night to stay in a glorified B&B is somewhat extortionate! And ok, lets split it by 4 people then, £107.50 per person, when 2 of those people may be aged under 6 for example is very expensive for what you are gettin

I think this actually agrees with Rick's point, working it out per person means you can assess the value and dividing £430 by four means its bad value and diving £430 by two means it is absolutely awful value.

I think it's a bit distasteful for Alton to be so relentlessly advertising such a 'premium', expensive and limited availability 'product' in places like tabloids where many of the parents seeing the adverts won't be able to afford it, and those that have the money could do much better for their kids with it. By all means have a premium hotel and fleece people with more money than sense, and they have to sell it some how, but surely there's a way where they don't dangle it so much in the faces of people who can't afford it?

Well, not too sure about the Porsche! lol. However - maybe its just me, but I do notice whenever I walk through ATH car park that the number of "Prestige" cars parked there seems to go up year on year!

LOL you reminded me of what happened to us last year, the hotel car park line was a mix of Merc's, Porsche and other exotic cars, then slap bang in the middle was our 2002 Nissan Micra, quiet a few people gave us that "is your normal car in the garage?" look.

Aiming the advertising at tabloids like the Sun when you should be aiming it more at the guardian and the times is what you mean :)

And some old gits buy a different paper every day.
Prefer to read in print, can't clean my windows with an online paper.

Got to say I'm pretty impressed by what I've seen of the hotel so far. It's themed all the way through and isn't just another generic, bland Travelodge style hotel for a change

It does look very good, not perfect, but very good and far better than Enchanted Village in terms of theming.

Looks like merlin have done quite a good job here! Another positive project from them this year. I think it goes to show that they can create incredible experiences if the money and time is invested well. Been impressed by the new additions to chessington this season and now this. Hopefully sw8 will be good in terms of theming!

The hotel is perfectly fine. Which is about as far as my plaudits will go. I had a good tour yesterday and have to say the rooms themselves are spacious and well done.

The rest of it is as you would expect. Bright, breezy, designed for little ones.

It's not got anywhere near the bespoke design features of a hotel like Splash, but then I guess it was never going to.

Was just about to say similar. It's acceptable, but that is all.

It's still pretty bland and boring, and doesn't even come close to the level of theming and quality of the other 2 hotels.

However "acceptable" does not mean worth the price.

I heard quite a few people are now complaining that rides in cbeebies land are getting massive queues, even during ERT :D
hmmm strange that
