Don't think this has been mentioned on here yet but something is being built at Flamingo Land!

I'd hazard a guess that they are getting rid of the monorail between the Muddy Duck Farm and the Seaside Adventure area for this new one.

Agreed, I'm surprised that one is still even running!

Same here, the rickety thing that it is.
Maybe it might even get two sides so you don't have to wait 15 minutes for a train!
Or is that wishful thinking?
There was a bit in the Metro today... Some 105 year old geezer has claimed to be the oldest person to ride a roller coaster. His ride of choice? Twist O Saurus.

I watched that live on ITV's Good Morning Britain the other morning lol...

I thought that was being converted into the electric monorail?I'd hazard a guess that they are getting rid of the monorail between the Muddy Duck Farm and the Seaside Adventure area for this new one.
Velocity is ten years old today. A lot has happened at the park since then, mostly positive I may add.

Velocity opened in 2005, making it 12 years old.

Apologies - so it is. That'll serve me right for doing arithmetic after a pint of shandy.Velocity opened in 2005, making it 12 years old.

I know Balloch fairly well. When I was at uni, I would frequently take the train there for day trips walking on the banks of the Loch. I hope if this development goes ahead, it is sympathetic to its surroundings.
There is already a well established tourist development on the shores of Loch Lomond. It has a Sealife, shopping and a visitor centre. More recently, they've added a ropes course and mini golf, so there is obviously growing interest in the tourist potential there.
If this proposal is located where I think it's meant to be going, it will link the village with the existing development. Currently, the village and loch front have a very relaxed, outdoorsy feel. I'm concerned that Flamingoland's brand of leisure and entertainment may throw off this balance and create something more brash and tacky.
Words like "observation tower" certainly don't allay my concerns.

What is there to "observe" in the area anyway? 35,000,000 caravans stretching to the horizon and an offshore wind farm?Words like "observation tower" certainly don't allay my concerns.
