I was going to make a topic listing things I think should be implemented but decided that making a topic for everyone would be more useful!

Firstly, I would like to propose some new Smiley's (I refuse to say the "E" word)

1 - Some Halloween E****'s (obviously a pumpkin, probably a witch, a zombie, a skull, and a Scarefest logo (so Merlin's legal team won't storm the gate, I would suggest making your own (even if its just a word reading "Scarefest"))

2 - A Skyride gondola

3 - A fire

4 - A knife (potentially restricted to just the tavern)

5 - A storage container...

6 - A clown
(for use when discussing Scarefest, the USA or Merlin)

7 - An assortment of drinks including, generic beer, generic cola, hot chocolate and a cup of tea!

I would like to propose a feature in which, you can add an overlay to a word or sentence to highlight it as being a joke or otherwise not serious (similar to adding a spoiler tag for example (I got tired of changing the text to light gray every time I use ()'s))

I would like to propose an edit to the rules page to better clerify some otherwise mildly vague rules, (for example (pretend "digbar" is a swear, for a second) obviously saying dagbar would be against the rules out side of the tavern, but would it be against the rules if said like this "d****r", or this "******" and what are the rules for saying something like this "*************** **** ****** ********", (something that just presents the idea of swearing without taking the place of any swear words (like E**** for example (if that makes sense)))
Or (for example, what is the extent to which, text speak is allowed (are universally known terms like lol allowed and to what extent) and is this any different in the tavern or the shoutbox)

I would also like to propose that (assuming this isn't already the case) when a topic or post is edited, moved, locked or deleted, that a PM is sent to the person who made the offending post, that gives a clear reason as to why this was done. (Possibly with the option to defend or appeal your case)
(I suggested this because on another unspecified theme park forum, my (as far as I could tell) perfectly reasonable and valid posts kept getting deleted with no disenable reason, and any attempt to inquire about it were ignored leading to multiple instances of me breaking the same posting rule multiple times due to not being told of said rule)

This is all the suggestions I can think of at the moment!

(Assuming this topic is allowed to remain unlocked) feel free to add your own suggestions for TST

EDIT - I just thought of something!

Asuming it doesn't already exist, can someone make a "History of TST" post/page detailing why you left TTF, where the original domain name came from, how you thought of the TST name and how it got from its launch version to this current version of the site!

Err we don't need more smilies and if you do use them from jonrb tbh.

Sweaing is clear, no swearing even if veiled outside of the Tavern.

You do get a notification why your post was deleted etc and if a topic is locked the last post says why.

Regarding why the split happened, that's never going to be an official page I dont think. Regarding history, apart from the jump from Project Aurora to TST it has pretty much been a constant upgrade built lovingly in the team's spare time.

Your demanding tone and the comment about if this topic stays open won't win you favour btw ;)

Well this is an interesting thread to come to on a Monday morning! On the whole I personally think that the forum works well as it is and we have not recieved any feedback from members saying otherwise. But I will try and address a few of your points raised.

We already have a large selection of emoticons. I don't know how easy it is to add more and am not sure if they are really needed. I've always been a fan of good discussion as opposed to posts full of needles emoticons.

This just seems unnecessary to me, I think most people on TowersStreet have a good understanding of when someone is being serious or not.

Our Member Expecations are pretty clear here. No swearing, even veiled, on the forum with the exception of the Tavern. Yes you may feel you want to express something with swear words but I can assure you that there are other words that express the same feelings!

We ask that members avoid "txt spk bc u no", it is hard to read. However nothing says words such as "lol" cannot be used. All we ask is that your posts are readable, make sense and add to the existing discussion.
I would also like to propose that (assuming this isn't already the case) when a topic or post is edited, moved, locked or deleted, that a PM is sent to the person who made the offending post, that gives a clear reason as to why this was done. (Possibly with the option to defend or appeal your case)

This is already the case, either a PM is sent or the member will receive and alert providing them with a reason for the edit/removal of a post etc. We will not be bringing in an appeals process, it's only a forum! However we will always take feedback on board so feel free to message a team member if you do not agree with a decision.

The About Us section of the site seems to cater for this. We have very much grown thanks to the support of our wonderful members and what I think is a high quality site and forum. As a team we all take great pride in making TowersStreet the best it can be and know our members want the same.

I hope that helps to answer some of you questions. We do always take feedback on board and try to improve TowersStreet where we can.

:)

I mean, even @DiogoJ42 doesn't raise any complaints and he is 3.5 million years old, grumpier than being stuck waiting for an evac from the Skyride, more miserable than the entirety of the rest of the world during closed season combined and likes to complain more than a normal person after 15 laps on an SLC.

I think the site is well run but i would never say no to a forum arcade! Gives me something to do instead of work

I don't know enough about XenForo forums but VBulletin and InvisionForums have an arcade plugin which has games like Pacman and Yeti Olympics which users can try to beat each others scores. Just an idea - personally im happy with the forum the way it is
