Didn't see a thread on this, so I apologise in advance if there's one already :p Six Flags announced a couple of days back that the Georgia Cyclone at SFOG is to close next Sunday (30th).

Shall we be seeing an RMC? I think it's pretty obvious at this point :p Whatever it is, I trust it won't get confirmed until Six Flags announce their attractions for 2018 at the beginning of September.

Georgia Cyclone was pretty terrible, so not much of a loss really, GASM on the other hand was a genuine delight, though my opinion of it was probably boosted by the fact that I wasn't really expecting much from it.

SFNE's Cyclone wasn't a cyclone clone IIRC.

I mean a standard Vernon Keenan layout :) - Six Flags has them at Great America and this one at Over Georgia. The ones at Magic Mountain and Astroworld are long gone - you have to wonder if they may have been candidates for RMCing also if they hadn't have been demolished.

Wicked Cyclone is an absolutely tremendous ride, but I am not sure you could create something quite like it from this particular layout. Interested to see it :)

It looks fantastic, but it does seem a bit short! Some of the elements look to drag out a little long for an RMC, but the real rides always seem to run somewhat faster than the animations.

Looks great. An RMC Big Apple would be more joyful than a lot of woodies of that era that are past their prime.
 
For crying out loud, Six Flags, come up with some more original names already!
 
I'm sure it'll be a great ride for the park but it is disappointingly short when compared to Steel Vengeance and Twisted Timbers which are actually longer than the originals.
 
Infinitely better than what it replaces. Twisted Colussus is a lot shorter than Colossus but there's obviously no comparison.

Not sure when it is due to open, but seeing as this also has the new RMC trains it will be interesting to see if they run it on more than one for now.

I thought all of the 2018 RMCs had the new trains, although I could be wrong!

Just checked and you're right, they are indeed the old style trains!
