What developments will happen after 2018?

Personally, I'd like to see something proper in the place where Ripsaw used to be, like a different sort of flat ride. (I'd actually like to see Ripsaw back tbh). Rita could either be replaced or rennovated to become a much better launched coaster. And yes, Cloud Cuckoo Land will likely get a full on overhaul and become either a land full of family rides (IP debatable) or a new coaster. I'm guessing it's going to be the former.

(I've posted loads tonight, damn. It's bloody 2am...I need to sleep haha)

I would love to see Towers invest in one of these Shaun the Sheep rides from Sally Corp. It looks like the ride will use similar tech to Ratatouille, and a 4D dark ride along those lines is sorely lacking in the UK.
If Towers don't go for it, I could see it being a fantastic addition to Paultons or it would fit in perfectly alongside Wallace and Gromit at Pleasure Beach

Rumour has it there are plans for a new flag on hole 7 of Extraordinary Golf, a replacement door handle on room 126 of Splash Landings and a brand new toilet roll holder in the Explorers Pizza Pasta buffet toilets.

Alton Towers dungeon seems to be the big "idea". Assuming that happens, then the next thing we can expect to see will be their other Midway attraction, Lego Discovery centre in the Cloud Cuckoo land building (the old inflatables one). Its arguably marketable to that older family segment they have a gap for; uses an IP they understand and would be a terrible idea lacking any imagination...
