Where are all these Blade closure rumours coming from?

Usual off season hysteria from seeing/hearing it being dismantled.

Same thing happens every year, I guess people have short memories because it has to be dismantled for winter maintaince.

I didn't think there had been any photos of it being dismantled yet, but yes, this does happen every year.

Blade will be dismantled this closed season and it is only then that they will discover whether or not it will return in 2019. They want it to, but it has had to be salvaged so many times in the past. You can only salvage something that is totally knackered so many times before it just is not worth the cost.

and if they wanted to get a bit more off the shelf then could add a pirate ship next to Battle Galleons and use the space in Forbidden Valley for a new coaster.

From an aesthetic perspective I think having a giant blade swinging in FV fits the theme quite nicely, just as Ripsaw did.

That said, the ride is clearly almost at the end of its life, and will be removed before long.

I’m not a huge fan of flats, I prefer roses with a bit more of an experience to them if they’re not a coaster, but I’d imagine Merlin will have to get at least one if Blade goes as well, in addition to hopefullly restoring NST.

NST restoration will be the likely case. There appears to be no urgency from the powers that be to add any new flat rides.

No but if they lose the Blade as wel then I think you need a minimum of 4 rides in that section of the park to justify how long it takes to physically get there.

I know they’ve operated the last few years with only 3, but presumably that’s with a view to reopen NST at some stage. I suppose SW9 May go there but that’s going to be some time away.

Note sure where's best to post this, but Notts&Derby (the operator of the crap times Nottingham-Derby-Ashborne-Alton Towers) X52 still have a bus with Galactica branding covering the back and a small banner on the sides.

Alton Towers still have a burger restaurant with theming on the walls depicting Charlie and the Choc factory, Nemesis Sub Terra and Twirling Toadstool.

The return of Forbidden Sweep?

And so it has.
I got this from the system monitoring queue times.

Hi support!

There are rides that have not had a queue time update for at least 24 hours.
This means that the queue times feed for said rides have not included the ride at all, as a ride closed for 24 hours would keep getting a closed update.

OBLIVION has not had it's queue time updated in 24 hours.
