Paultons Park: General Discussion

It's a pricey park, but well worth the money in my eyes. The investments going in it are fantastic and the park is so well kept and cared for. Looking forward to my trip this week.

For AT, by far the biggest player with rock bottom entry prices this season, to be languishing in anywhere but 1st place is poor. As for Thorpe and Chessington missing - well that sums up where we're at.

Screamscape are reporting that Paultons Park have filed several new trademarks throughout the year:
  • “Storm Chaser” which was said to be for a rollercoaster ride
  • “Tornado Springs” possibly as the name for a new themed area in the park
  • “Al’s Auto Academy” as the name for Driving Academy style ride
  • “Route 83” as the name for either a new ride or a ride
  • "Al’s General Store” as a themed retail shop
Sounds interesting! Although something tells me that Storm Chaser will not be anything like its namesake at Kentucky Kingdom.

:)

Very exciting! Wasn't Paultons supposed to receive something in 2020, or did I imagine that?

I could imagine Storm Chaser potentially being a nice name for a family Gravity Group woodie, like Oscar's Wacky Taxi at Sesame Place or Kentucky Flyer coming to Kentucky Kingdom!

I get the feeling this is going to be a mack spinning coaster. A new themed area next to and incorporating the sky swinger. Tornado Springs just screams spinning rides.

Ooh! This is exciting; I wonder what Paultons have in store for us? I reckon something like a Gravity Group family Woodie might be in store for us! But I'm sure whatever it is, it'll be wonderful!

Paultons seem to be so successful at the moment, and I quite frankly couldn't be more pleased for them! Out of all of the UK parks, they definitely seem to be the one that has made the most upward progress in the last 10 years to me, if you get what I mean. 10 years ago, they only really had Cobra in terms of major rides, but they now have loads to do, including the rides in the Lost Kingdom, Critter Creek, The Edge, Magma and not forgetting the golden nugget that is Peppa Pig World!

I thought word was a re theme of existing coaster with new support rides to make new area? Surely if they were sticking up anything decent Paultons have sailed a little to close to the wind with planning previously and only just got away with it, I'm sure they're not going to pull that again!

They desperately need to get the area with Magma/Cobra/Edge in it up to the thematic standard of the rest of the park.

Wasn't that the new area they opened this year @pluk?

I think this year was an expansion of Peppa Pig with a couple of new rides.

Previously they've rethemed an old area into Critter Creak, so they have form for doing that. As Astrodan says, Cobra and Edge are in need, that's where I'd expect this.

I've no idea though, it could be eomethsom completely new!

Has that area officially been declared park land now? Would they be able to retheme that area or would they have problems again? I hope they do. They need something to bring the crowds over to that side of the park. The lost kingdom is my favorite themed area in the UK but it never gets busy. PPW is always rammed, it would be nice to see other areas of the park rammed too.

I think this could well be a re-theme of the Cobra/Edge section of the park to bring the area up to the standards of the other parts of the park. First thing I thought if when I saw the teaser artwork was the smoky mountain could possibly be a representation of a re themed Magma.

“Storm Chaser” could potentially be a renamed/themed Edge.
“Al’s Auto Academy” could be the park's Go Karts

Cobra could probably stay pretty much intact but with some added themeing. i think the existing snake name would suit the area as it's looking to be following an Americana theme. Perhaps the new area will also include the Raging River log flume ride, Dragon ride and Sky Swinger with each receiving new themeing too?
