Towers Loving Care

Lots of work is taking place across the park this winter regardless of the lack of TLC updates.
I believe Galactica has had a jet wash for one. Pigs have flown!

Looked like a repaint to me. Either that or it was just extremely filthy before

Didn’t realise how bad it had gotten!

^And it couldn't have been done during the numerous closed days throughout the year?
The problem is, it takes several weeks to do the job completely and they bring in external contractors. It's a pretty complex job, with ropes and all manner of things required to do it fully.

Fair enough, I know Busch jet wash Kumba in about a week and Towers had about 13 closed days in September alone last year. Maybe it's different with different work cultures/contractor availability etc though. The problem is, it takes several weeks to do the job completely and they bring in external contractors. Probably different requirements and ways of working. Also, they probably want to get it all done in one go rather than a couple of days here and a couple of days there.
If they wanted to do it they could have. The Macks probably wouldn’t leave it like that for a year!

Possibly, yes. But Alton Towers don't have the manpower/budget to do what they actually want.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but in the photo above, it actually looks like a paint job in a new colour (Galactica Blue) as oppsed to just revealing the original greener Air track. Could be wrong as only just seen that 1 picture.......
It appears that way because in that picture, coincidentally, that part of the track is covered by a blue parcan light.

I didn't think of that

Absolutely fantastic this is being done! Also fantastic it isn't being promoted online to (impressionable young) enthusiasts as if this were anything more than basic maintenance.
In a better situation, Alton Towers would be allowed the resources to do this every other year to avoid it ever turning moss green!
