PortAventura: General Discussion

I think about the only ride I thought worse than Baco was Mean Streak, mostly because at least Baco is mercifully short...

I’ve just booked a trip to portaventura
Is Baco really as bad as everyone says?
Yes it's rough but don't let that put you off. It's worth it just for the launch and, as many have discussed, the setting is spectacular. I wish more coasters were built over water.

*Prepares to be pelted with faeces* No it's really not..I really enjoy Baco. It is the most intense and forceful launch I've ever experienced and the ride simply never lets up from start to finish. It may not be for the faint hearted but it's a rollercoaster. Do the majority of people expect to sleep on these things or read a nice book?!

Is that what used to be at cedar point? Dear god that thing was brutal, the only ride I’ve ever been hurt on and wanted off. And it lasted for ever. Incredibley painful and unpleasant.

Baco is magnificent in comparison and to be honest not all that bad I would say

Aye it was, now replaced by Steel Vengeance (though even a Go-Gator would've been an improvement)...

As an aside, the only ride in recent memory that physically caused me harm was Tornado at Bakken; a worrying trend for these 'unique' Intamins...

There's a couple of SLC's that are considerably worse than Baco as well as one or two woodies. I'd happily re-ride Baco for an hour or two if it meant seeing El Condor torn to the ground.

Agree Tornado is utterly horrendous (and outright unsafe) if you're not properly prepared for the onslaught.

That said, I do think there is some limited skirmish of fun to be had from it if you ride it right, unlike Baco.

It wasn't mentioned anywhere on the adverts for express over winter, we might have ridden if we'd known.

Staying on express, they need to come up with better names for their packages. Calling the base tier express max is really confusing.

Let's be honest John. It just adds to the chaos.
