How Busy?

Looking towards September, would I be right in assuming the park would be quite quiet in the latter half of the month?

Also unlikely, but the park opening is currently just marked as "open" with no indication of 10-5 or 10-4, I'm assuming it would be 10-4 though....

Yeah, late September is normally 10-4 mixed in with a couple 10-5s for good measure.

...fantastic time of year with the trees beginning to change colour.
The park is reserved for grandparent and grandchildren, with a few skiving students and middle agers.
They let people of other ages in if you promise to be good.
Very best time to visit when you balance temperature and crowds.
On a similar but slightly off topic note, how is the M6 doing with the smart motorway roadworks heading north from stoke.?
Not been since April, are they nearly there yet?

We are planning to go Tuesday. Will be buying Fast tracks just incase it's going to be busy. One time deal though as we have free tickets anyways. Hoping it will be quieter.

I wouldn't buy Fastrack tickets until you are there. If by 12pm/1pm you feel it's busy enough to warrant it, then by all means go ahead. But with school trips being mostly this week, next week might be quieter than expected. :)

Are they the same price on park as they are online?

Okay will deffo wait
Plus, the question is, do you need Fastrack at all? From reading your posts I gather that you visit semi-regularly, to the point where you have done all the rides a fair amount of times before. Some of the nicest days I've had at Towers have been those where I've not tried to do loads of rides, but just enjoyed wandering around the park and gardens, doing the odd ride and people-watching. Of course I could be wrong (I've been wrong before), but it's something to consider.

No ive been once. We didn't get on anything apart from WM, RMT and Duel. We have a free ticket to go back so using it before my son goes to uni and the bus stops running from Derby.

That's fair enough then. I hope it's not too busy for you! Perhaps worth looking at ridetimes on the Monday to make a judgement.

It was busy last time. But the problem was that we didn't get on anything because everything kept breaking down.

Thanks for the advice :D

Next week if often the quietest week of the summer hols, for the last three years we have done our annual pilgrim to towers this week, Monday to Thursday, and never seen a queue longer than 20 mins. Most people with kids tend to do their proper "holiday" either that week or the next and don't get to the stage of "I'm gonna kill those kids - ok let's go to towers" stage until mid-August.

As others have said, don't prebook fast track, the day could be dead for all you know, here is last years Smiler queue for the 25th (we were there so I can confirm it was accurate). Smiler Queue Data 25/7/17. The reason it shot up to an hour mid-afternoon is they had to clear up a "guest incident" on the exit stairs, but didn't close the ride, as I said, we were there stuck in the pen and watched it all much to everybody's amusement.

Really hope it's gonna be a better day

For those who are curious, the park today was absolutely rammed with kids and families... but weirdly enough the queue times for the big rides weren't too terrible. longest I queued was about about an hour for The Smiler, 50 mins for Wicker Man, 35 mins for Thirteen and nemesis was walk on basically when I was near it. They were getting through the peeps real fast with Oblivion too, managed 3 rides on that throughout the day with only a 5 minute wait. Probably gonna be the same for the rest of the week I imagine.

Hi guys, we're looking at a trip on Monday (30th) to towers... anyone have a vague idea how busy it may be? Would be a 2 hour journey and don't want to make the journey if it's going to be poor queuing for rides for hours! :D
