I imagine they promised trains, not actual seats.
Did you have to actually queue up for anything though?
We come to that time of year when two ambassadors armed with whistles try to keep two hundred screaming kids out of the dancing fountains show.
Always fun to watch with a beer.

Big One was halfway down the ramp on one and a half trains so I didn’t bother. Big Dipper was almost to the stairs on one train so gave that a miss too. Easy enough to get on Nash early PM. As it’s the first ride a lot of the trips head to, I just wait for them to move up to South park en masse.

It frustrates me to read this after seeing Magnum running three trains with less than a 10 minute queue, it stacked for less time on three than The Big One does on two!

Pleasure Beach's management need to take a trip to Cedar Point to learn how to run an Arrow hypercoaster, there really is no excuse for such poor operations when you consider that Magnum is five years older than The Big One!

I fully agree Blackpool ops can be naff but I’m Fairly sure Magnum has never crashed. Never going to see three train operation on the big one again.

Three train ops were barely any quicker than two anyway.
You just sat round the back of the station for two minutes.
Any minor issues in the station, and the ride stacked.
A bit like Oblivion, quick to get on, very slow to get off.

Just a bit of advice for anyone thinking of staying at their Boulevard Hotel in the near future.

Don't, its not ready yet.

We made the mistake of booking a last minute stay for Saturday night and turned up to find a hotel nowhere near finished. The Ocean Club is not available as its still being built, likewise the fitness centre isnt open. Only the first floor of rooms are open, upper floors are not accessible as they are fitting the rooms out.

We had numerous issues with our room most notably the air conditioning making an electrical crackling noise at various times in the early hours of the morning and our bath not holding its water. Also the finishes in the room feel rushed and sloppy.

We feel as though we have wasted our money as the sections which are not open yet are not mentioned on the website.

We are awaiting a call from the manager about this, but anyone thinking of booking, please be aware that parts are like a building site at the moment.

As for the park yesterday, nice day, but park very quiet again. Icon on 1 train though which resulted in a queue halfway between the station and entrance. Everything else was pretty much walk on.

My main issue with The Big One is that it's capable of shifting a queue on two but they run it so inefficiently now it's painful to stand and wait for it.

I never witnessed Big One running 3 but if it was anything like Magnum, it is much quicker. That ride shifted four switchbacks of queue in the 5 minutes it took us and was walk-on once we got off.

I wouldn't anyway, it wouldn't be Blackpool to me without staying in a cheap, crummy Bed and Breakfast for £20 a night.

Icon only running one one today, rather poor twenty minute queue when it should have been less than five minutes.
Heard an evil rumour from the staff (more than one)...it was due to a very naughty supervisor putting a 1 instead of a 2 in the wrong place, and ticking the wrong box on the daily signing off sheet.
Naughty naughty person.
No names...even though I know them.
More school groups by the day now, the pushing and barging in the queueline has begun.
Wear shin pads weekdays, and sharpen those elbows.

Got a cheeky day off tomorrow and might go to the park. How's it been this week? I'm a bit worried it will be full of school kids tomorrow.

May well be.
Been getting busier by the day.
If it is an official schools day, both Big One and Icon should be on two trains, but with the weather and students finished, it may well be busy.
You can always phone them up and ask how many schools are coming, they are often happy to tell you.
...but not always!

I think Saturday's are much quieter than midweek at the moment, saw a picture from yesterday (Wed 26th June) with the queue for icon going well out of the main entrance gates.

Decided to come anyway in the end. It is very busy. I have done 9 rides already tho including 4 on Icon and 1 on the Big One. Front row of Icon still my fav seat.

Good to see the park busy tbh. Good atmosphere and weather is great.

It's now beer o'clock I think.

I get absolutely great floater airtime on icons front seat :) nothing I have been on quite gives that same loose your belly feeling that you get on it, it's delightful. Mako has way more ejector airtime like you get in the back seat though.....
