Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

I would imagine DLP now have recycling containers around the park(s) so that they can be re-used. At least, I would hope that they are promoting such a fact.
No need for recycling - a glass of water for each seat would suffice ;)

Plastic is only "single use" if people throw it away. Someone at work called me out recently for using a plastic water bottle. They shut up when I pointed out that said bottle is about three years old.

This latest SJW crusade is getting tiresome. Plastic itself is not evil. In fact, our society would not function without it. Blame the morons who drop litter, not the product itself.

The trouble with plastic, you may throw it away responsibly, but when the binman collect these and they get taken away, they sometime fall out of the lorry and get blown into the nearest stream which takes it out to sea.

Even if the plastic makes it to the recycling centre, it will either end up in land fill or get dumped in some foreign country that are overwhelmed with our plastic waste.

Any plastic particles from the factory that manufactures the bottles ends up being washed away down the plughole and ends up in the sea and into our food chain.

Plastic is a problem whether you dispose of it responsibly or not.

The moment anyone uses the term “SJW” they lose the argument by default.

If history has taught us anything it’s that you can’t trust people, so it’s easier just to remove the route cause of a problem.

My original post was meant as a throwaway joke, but I think this is worth answering.

People may reuse "single use" plastic water bottles, but that photo shows that new ones were waiting for guests (or press or whoever) in the theatre, without being asked for. Someone may have gone in with their own reusable water bottle but another one had been left for them whether they want it or not. This is why a problem - people's personal behaviour makes no difference if the default option is to provide more single-use plastic, even if unasked for.

As Dave says, the solution is in tackling the root of the problem rather than the symptoms. He's also right about 'SJW' - it's a term that belongs to the Trump-supporting neo-fascist "alt-right", and if you use it you're aligning yourself with them.

Single use plastic is only have the problem. The entire process of making plastic is incredibly wasteful and harmful to the environment right from the extraction of crude oil, fractional distillation, to the moulding of plastics, whether or not it will be used again, anything that is disposable should only be made in the strictest of circumstances

Wow this thread went off on a tangent :flushed:

Rock'n'Roller Coaster is confirmed to be closing on 1st September to begin its conversion to Iron Man.
DLP have started the process of saying goodbye with memories book at the ride exit and some extra information on the soundtracks used.

Also access to Moteurs Action has been diverted round the other side of ToT presumably to give site access for Spiderman, I do wonder if the entire left side past Stitch will be closed off in September when RnR closes. This will leave a small park even smaller for a while, hopefully they don't need to close anything else before Iron Man or Spiderman open or the park will struggle...more than usual.

Iron Man will be far superior to RnR, the theme is incredibly outdated now.

Disney do not cut corners with re-themes, we can expect huge improvements here in the visual technology.

Even as a Disney fan I feel I must point you in the direction of Incredi-coaster but yes from what we have seen I think this will be a great update.

True, I was thinking more ToT to Gaurdians. Not sure if it's an improvement because the original is such a classic, but it looks pretty impressive.

As had already been announced ToT at Paris will be receiving "random" drop sequences this Halloween but it has now been confirmed these will be accompanied by various "stories" consisting of new visual and audio effects. As long as they do this well it could be a very welcome addition.

I look forward to the conversion. RnR has a distinctly average layout, enhanced scenery and effects could really make it worth riding again.

It's so strange because Hollywood Studios version is a really fun ride, probably due to it actually have scenery to fly past. So I do think this Marvel overlay can only enhance DLPs Rock'n'Rollercoaster.

Overlay might be a tad unfair. It's a total retheme rather than an Disney special overlay job.

New concept art for the Marvel Land coming to Walt Disney Studios Park in 2020/2021.

It has been announced that the area will be called ‘Avengers Campus’. To put the below into context this will be view from the current exit of Rock n Rollercoaster.

Not what I'd have chosen but it can't possibly be any worse than what it has replaced.

They need a great big coaster at that park so badly. Hopefully the Frozen one will be a coaster and not a boat ride.

Wouldn't Rock'n'Rollercoaster or whatever its name is when it's rethemed fill that void?
